  • Absolutely works!
Style: Self-Emptying Vacuum
The media could not be loaded. I purposely did not write a review for this immediately after receiving it. I think those reviews really do not tell you the full picture because everyone is excited and then they rant and rave about it, not knowing that it should run through its paces beforehand. As of today, it’s been approximately nine months since I’ve had this machine. In fact-it is running right now as we speak. So, if you were expecting this machine to clean everything in your house, well, it won’t. However, if you put it at the setting of an average clean, it will pick up the dust and everything else in between in the common traveled areas. If you place it on matrix clean, you will run the battery down and it will take a couple of sessions in order for it to clean your entire place based on the square footage of your home. One recommendation is to make sure every week you dump out the container or the collecting bin. Also, when you do, make sure you inspect what it has picked up when dumping!!! I had found that it my wife’s missing earring, a few dimes and a missing screw that I was looking for for my key fob to the car. So make sure you are looking to see What the vacuum shot into its collecting bin. Also, in regards to hair, it will pick that up however, make sure you have a fine or small screwdriver available. The hair tends to bind up the bristle wheel that is next to its traction. If there’s any long hair, or dog hair or what not it will end up collecting there and bind up the Pick up Wheel or spindle. You will have to unscrew two small screws and gently take it apart and get that tangled weave of hair out of there. There is a ball of it binding the wheel to make it free flowing. What will happen is over time, it will not spin as well, it will drain the battery because it had to work harder when working, and then you will get errors stating that the wheel is caught up somehow. It is because of that reason you need to make sure that you do a monthly maintenance check on this vacuum. It’s just like any other robot vacuum / it can only do so much as it’s designed for. Constant preventative maintenance insures that your robot vacuum will operate properly like brand new. As in with bumping into things and so forth, it does have some hiccups where it cannot find the collection bin. You may want to make sure that the Wi-Fi is working properly in your house and also make sure that the base unit is plugged in properly. I’ve already had that happen to me a couple times because the vacuum Will sometimes pull out the cord when vacuuming around it- the cord is on the floor and then it has problems finding the charging base even when it’s right next to it….just a suggestion… The app is very friendly to use, and you can set your zones, so customization is really user-friendly- once again. Also, this machine tends to find its way quite easily through all the areas corners, nooks and crannies. It operates in the dark because of its motion sensor, and Vacuums our entire floor in one charge based on its settings. 1750 Sq feet. It notices stairs, and also one feature I do like is that it does adjust to objects that are either stationary or if you’re standing in the way. Meaning, if you’re standing in the vacuum comes up to you it will work around you. It will then turn around to do the next pass. If it sees that that object is not there, it will come back And vacuum the spot where you were standing. That’s a very cool feature in my opinion. I also noticed that it does not mess or cover open areas. They are very uniform when this robot is vacuuming. Keep in mind, this won’t do everything, but it does keep the dust down. In tight corners, this will not be able to reach due to its circular design. The main key is to perform monthly maintenance on this vacuum if you are running this one to four times a week. If you maintain that which is very simple, approx 5-10 min of time, you’ll be very pleased with this shark vacuum. I just bought another one for our downstairs because I am that impressed. Additionally, I purchased two extra batteries to make sure that this model is discontinued. I have enough prolonged extended time for this machine to keep going. This is a great investment. Good luck! ... show more

  • It's really cool. It does the job
Style: Self-Emptying Vacuum + Mop
This is my first time using a robot vacuum. I went with Shark because I looove their other cleaning machines that I have owned. I'm impressed with this vacuum. It was very easy to set up using the app. After setup, the first thing you do is to let it map your home. The trick is to move items that can be moved out of its way so it can get a good map of your rooms. While its mapping a room, I move chairs out of that room to another until it's done mapping then I put them back. It does a decent job of creating a map of your home, and you can let it do it again just in case you're not pleased with its rendering. While mapping, it is not cleaning so bear that in mind. After it delivers the map to your home, you then move on to labeling each room by dragging a square over each area which tells the vacuum the boundaries of that room. This is great for if you later want to send the vacuum to clean a particular room and not the whole house. For places where I have two rooms in one like my kitchen and dining, I separate the two rooms while labeling rooms on the map because sometimes I want only the kitchen vacuumed and not the dining room. I watch where the vacuum goes to begin its vacuuming just to check if the boundary I created in the map is where I want it. I can go in and adjust it in the map by dragging the square for that room to change it. Make sure your squares connect to the square of the adjoining room because in areas where you do not have a square covering in the map, the vacuum will not go there. All that aside, you can opt to do a regular single-pass vacuuming or a more robust matrix vacuuming where the robot goes horizontal and vertical so every area is cleaned twice. Its suction isn't bad. I still see little things on the carpet that it misses. It does a great job with corners for its round shape. You can also take it to a spot you want it to clean instead of the whole room. You can also use the map to block out areas you do not ever want it to clean. I have a large home and it saves me so much time keeping the floors and carpet clean. You can schedule it to vacuum whenever you like. Doing it maybe 4 times a week helps a lot and keeps debris down. Sometimes when it goes to unload the debris it gets stuck and you have to manually clear the chute and empty the canister in the garbage instead. That's not a deal breaker for me. It's not too quiet but I don't mind it as it lets me know it is working. My dogs find it fascinating at first, they were a bit scared, but after a little while, they just ignore it as its doing its thing. I find no real issues with this vacuum, it's electronic and may glitch at times, like going to the wrong room, but I just simply cancel it and start again and it works. I highly recommend this. ... show more

  • Like it so far, but there are a lot of thing could be enhance
Style: Self-Emptying Vacuum + Mop
The media could not be loaded. I had an basic robot vaccuum and wanna upgrade it. Here is some pros and cons after a day trying it + Set up easy + Exploring map fast. It run around and scanning quickly, and accurately. I was skeptical at first when see it running fast but the result is very nice. + The mop feature is nice and clean. Not deep clean but good. I like this. + Smart alorithm: Ex: It climbs over my bath towel, but handled to escape it with multiple tries. Ex: the towel stuck (it pushed the towel itseff) in middle of my bath room which has 2 doors. It cleans first half, and smart enough to go around to the other door and continue clean the second half. I am surprised it able to do that. +/- do beyond what I asked us to clean/ not following the command. Was set it to clean kitchen, but it done clean kitchen and go to clean other room. - not sure what is it alorithm to find the path, but sometimes it go the same places multiple times, and ignore some place in the cleaning area. Did not aware if it come back to clean that missing area again, but in report show that missing area which I noticed while monitoring it, was cleaned. - only have 1 side brush, 1 arm and leave some dirt behind. After it completed vacuum. I emptied my second vacuum and let the second vacuum robot run again, my second vacuum robot still collect a good amount of dirt. - tha app is not good. Lack of multiple functions which I wish it can have -- Cannot monitor in real time -- no notifications to mentioned the work is done, or it just come back to base station to charge. -- battery draining fast and slow to charge. (Run in 40 min and use 60% of battery (from 90% to 30%) (take 45 min to charge 20% (30% to 50%) -- when using mop, the auto empty dirt is not work. ... show more
