I am so glad I went with this Shark vacuum. I've had it for about 6 months now and I believe it is so much more powerful than my old vacuum which was a Dyson and then a Bissell; I had more problems with parts not fitting right or motors going out, or just build up of dirt inside the vacuums. The Shark design is well thought out and simple once you learn to use it. And the extra bonus is that it really picks up the dirt, has great suction and is great for dusting too. I did have to buy some additional after market brushes with a conversion piece, since none of my prior brushes were interchangeable. Anyway, it is so easy to take it apart to turn it into a canister vacuum for cleaning those hard to reach areas like ceiling fans and base boards. Plus in the end, it all disassembles and is easy to wash with soap and water after a full day of cleaning. I just soak it all in the bath tub. I never use to be able to do that with my other vacuums. I would always have to get my husband to blow everything out with the air compressor. I would highly recommend this vacuum.

Let me start off by saying, I’ve always been a shark fan. The two vacuums I’ve had were sharks, the latest being 6 years old now. Although it still works, I’ve recently moved to a place with plush carpet in main parts of the house so I needed an upgrade from my mini. This model is perfect! The suction power is strong enough that it wants to pull you when you turn it on. I love the side sensor indicator and how slim and sleek the sides are. It’s handy to get in those tighter spots, and along baseboards. With four settings to choose from for your floor height, including “sensor mod” so you can go from carpet to wood floor without having to stop and adjust levels; so it’s compatible with any flooring. The noise level is lower than expected considering how strong the suction is. It has a lower hum, rather than some with a high pitch. It comes with the standard attachments along with a special attachment to use on window blinds and ceiling fans. My favorite features are the unique rollers. I have long hair that seems to find its way everywhere, so I was especially interested to see the outcome. I usually have to clean the rollers after I’m done with every use just so it doesn’t get out of hand. The picture below is the result after vacuuming my hardwood floors in the kitchen, bathroom tiles, 2 bedrooms and living space. It’s a great, durable vacuum that’s worth the money.

I live in the desert so a LOT of dust and dirt get tracked into my home, and I also have a what WAS a "fancy" floor finish that now flakes up CONSTANTLY, so keeping up on vacuuming is a *constant* chore. Just to make things more complicated, I'm disabled and have arthritis, so doing a lot of moving around and bending down to get at tricky spots used to leave me laid up for an entire day after housekeeping. THIS vacuum cleaner has been a complete GAME-CHANGER! It is a *little* heavier than I expected, but for all the other features, it's enough of a trade-off. One of the BEST features for someone with limited flexibility is that you can lift the light-weight cannister and motor section off of the base and carry it around like a hand vacuum. You can *also* remove the handle from the vacuum in two differed lengths - a short handle for cleaning things at waist height and above, and a LONG handle to get under crevices and other spots on the floor without bending over or getting down on your hands and knees for tricky spaces! This vacuum allows me to adjust the rug/floor setting with a button near the handle without having to bend over and fiddle with a knob near the floor, and even has a setting to automatically adjust itself to go from carpet to bare floor. The motor is STRONG and does an excellent job at cleaning the carpet and floor with just a few passes. For getting under cupboards and furniture, there's a sensor that will give a boost where you need one, and a light that goes on and off automatically because the darn thing is MAGIC and knows when you need it! The cannister that holds the dust and dirt is on the small side, but I think this is a plus because even though you have to clean it out a little more often, it doesn't vomit out so much gunk that you end up covered in dust and grime. That is also why it is small and light enough to carry around, so I consider it a feature, not a bug. It is a little pricey, but I think it's been worth every penny. I actually look forward to using it because it's made it so much easier to keep my house clean again!

I really like this vacuum overall — the suction is strong, it picks up pet hair great, and it feels well-built. It definitely does the job and then some. My only complaint (and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5) is the “Lift-Away” feature. I specifically chose this expecting it to work like other Shark Lift-Away vacuums where you can fully detach the pod for easy cleaning under furniture and tight spaces. Unfortunately, this model doesn’t function the same way, and that was a bit disappointing. It’s still a great vacuum and works really well, but I do wish that feature was more comparable to the traditional Lift-Away design. If that matters to you, it’s something to consider before buying.

I hate this vacuum!! Ordered on November 18,2025, now I find out that I would have had to return it before January 31,2026. Guess they know it’s a hunk of junk! At first it worked pretty good, then it wouldn’t pick up anything, even after going over same spot 5-6 times. Will not pick up pet hair off carpet or hard floor. I took the wand and hoses off, checked to see if anything was blocked-nothing! I should have bought the Dyson!! I will never buy a shark vacuum again, they should last more than 2-3months!
