I had about a 7 or 8 foot ornamental tree die over the winter. The trunk tapered from about 4 inches at the top to about 8 inches at the bottom. Since this tree was a virtual thicket of branches, I purchased this little chainsaw thinking it would give me a way to clear some light branches so I could get into the tree to work on the bigger limbs with my larger electric chainsaw. This tool worked really well. Not only did I clear a path, I also cut all of the branches off. The branches varied from about an inch to over 3 inches. This chainsaw cut through all of them very smoothly. Just out of curiosity, I tried cutting the trunk. The saw made it to about 5 inch thickness but struggled. I had to cut around the trunk to get sufficient depth of cut. I would say the maximum cut would be about 3 to 4 inches. The saw comes with two batteries and I had one in the charger and one on the saw. I would say about 30 minutes of good cutting per charge. I also used the saw to cut up the branches into smaller pieces. It is important to check the chain tension regularly and to keep the chain well oiled. When the chain got loose or needed oil, the cutting deteriorated. I would say I made well over 100 cuts with the saw for this job and it's going strong. It is extremely lightweight and easy to use. Finally, as others have noted, it looks like a toy. However, it is a serious tool and like any saw, potentially dangerous. Overall, an amazing little tool!

This chain saw is lightweight and does an amazing job on cutting through small to medium size branches. The bar is 6" long -- and with most chain saws of any size, cutting through something that is about 3/4 of the bar length is the 'sweet spot' -- and this saw is no exception. The chain is aggressive which means that you exert almost as much force holding it back as in pushing it into the wood. The most amazing factor in this saw is the long- running time. A friend of mine was watching me cut up tree branches on a fallen tree for a good 20 minutes. That's not full-time cutting -- I cut 3-4 branches, drag the branches out of the way, cut some more. After 20 minutes, I asked him how many 'bars' of battery life I have left (out of 4 when fully charged). He guesses 1-2, probably need to swap in the 2nd battery. I held up the saw, pressed the button and all 4 LED indicator lights came on! He couldn't believe it. The only issue with the saw is that the motor gets hot. It has a thermal shutdown which protects it. This occurs when cutting through larger pieces (e.g. 80-90% of bar length) non-stop (.e.g. cut a piece off of the end, move up, cut another piece, move up, cut another piece). If the motor could use more air circulation and perhaps a metal housing for more cooling efficiency. I'm very happy with this product. My friend wants one. Very recommended.

I was finding full size chain saws were to big for some of the close pruning. The hand saw was no going to cut it. Saw these mini chainsaws advertised and I though I'd try it. Unit comes with charger, 2 batteries, spare chain, safety glove, oiler bottle and a carrying case. Saw worked great

After pruning my trees with a hand saw through the years, I decided there must be an easier way. While the description of this saw on Amazon seemed too good to be true for the price, I decided to give it a try - not much to lose. When it arrived everything described was included. The operator manual was organized, thorough, and in good grammar. Once the batteries were charged, I gave it a try on a larger tree branch I had previously avoided tackling with a hand saw. It cut it like butter! I was so amazed I proceeded to cut the branch up into short pieces for easy removal. This little saw is so much fun I only wish I had more trees to cut up. Great product!

This little chain saw is perfect for cutting small limbs off, small boards, such as 2z4's and/or other projects that don't warrant a big saw. The package itself is of good value, having 2 chains, 2 batteries, and a carrying bag. A great purchase in my opinion.
