it definitely is a chair. it was easy to put together aside from one, sad, angry screw that refused to screw in all the way... but everything else was easy enough. there is a plastic cover that comes with the up/down release thingy and it doesn't mention it in the instructions at all, so i didn't put it on the chair and uh... now i can't take it apart to put it on. so. be warned?? comfort is pretty good, you can lean back in it but the chair back is static so you're not truly reclining! just be aware. the cushion is pretty comfy actually, but i will probably end up getting a lumbar pillow at some point because there is little support. i know their other chairs do offer more lumbar support though, so if that's something you need i'd look at their arlington chair. the fabric is really nice! i literally only got this chair because i wanted fabric and HATE fake leather. so, if you're like me, i would recommend this chair. :) ... show more

It isn't as soft as it looks and sounds, I, pay 80 bucks, so, though it would have been nice if it was as soft as the micro gel pillows of serta, inferior cushion, from a good pillow brand. Also looked quit used, even though, it said like new, maybe it's the microfiber, or the cars, but it looks grunge. ... show more

The cushions are hard. It looks nice. That's about the only upside. I would pay maybe half the cost for this chair. Even at the lowest tension, it takes way too much force to lean back in the chair. Obviously if you have to use your legs to push the entire time you're sitting in it to lean, it's not comfortable. If you're a person who can't sit straight up for hours in a chair, don't get it. I got this for my work from home job and my whole body aches from sitting in this chair all day. Not worth the hassle of returning. ... show more

After extensive research, this chair was recommended to me. If your not trying to drop bigger money on a SecretLabs or a Herman Miller or something like that like I was, this is a great option for the meantime while you save. Very comfortable, best quality chair I've ever had at this pricepoint.

Since changing to a remote work schedule a few years ago, my old chair had completely worn out. I was well over due for a new office chair. This chair was fairly easy for one person to put together. Hand screw everything with the provided tools and you’ll be fine. I love the fabric (it was difficult to find a good fabric chair as most are bonded leather). The seat has a lot of cushion and the lumbar support is perfect - the placement is just right for someone 5’3”. Some people reported issues with the recline; however, they may not have realized that the entire seat and seat back reclines as one unit.
