This trimmer should be considered as an intermediate trimmer between twigs and logs. For twigs, a hand trimmer is better and faster, for logs or larger branches, you need a chain saw.

Finally getting around to a review. Battery life is great. Tool works great. Now that it has some age on it the safety trigger gets a little sticky and sometimes have to pull the trigger a couple of times but nothing that troubling. Battery connector is a bit of a pain because it only fits one way. Maybe it has 4 contacts so that it can balance the cells in the battery? Anyway, great product, would buy another one. ... show more

This tool is one of those things I ordered from Amazon that I was really excited to receive. This is exactly what I needed all this time and I'm glad it came in time for the weekend. I charged it for 5 hours, read the user manual, and voila! it works like a charm! I was able to cut down the dried branches of my oleanders that were frozen dead from the arctic storm in February; most of the branches were thicker than my pruner's capacity but I made my way around the thick ones. After 2-3 hours of continual use, this buddy felt too warm and the battery became weak so I had to stop and had it charged for a few hours more, when I saw the green pilot light, I'm excited again for my next cutting session! What excites me is, I'm not young anymore and with back problems, whereas my husband is terminally ill and can't do any thing around the house, but with my cordless pruner or my SereneLife, that is, I'm still able to accomplish garden tasks that are heavy for me to do without having to hire someone (because it adds to my bills instead of using the money for hospital bills) So you can see the picture of my tough little helper that looks like a smiling ShoeBill bird after he took down that big branch. While this is definitely a bit slower than I expected, it does the job well. Safety is important here, I can see the blades easily slicing through a finger.

    • Supported the warranty!
I bought this battery-operated pruner to help me manage the trails on my property. I found it easy to use and it was a fairly light-weight product. It was able to prune back growth without stopping to have it cool down. I have some arthritis in my hands due to an injury from years past and the ratchet from a manual pruner was becoming too much. This pruner put less stress on my hands. After using it for a couple months, I noted that it sounded like the gears were slipping. I contacted SereneLife to use their warranty to repair or replace my pruner. After a number of emails with Michelle in the warranty department, she sent me a shipping label and walked me through the process. I found Michelle to be very helpful and professional throughout. I received a new pruner and it’s been working properly. I found this company to be professional and they stood behind their product. I’m very pleased! ... show more

I'm an 80 year old woman without a gardener. I was thinking I needed to hire one to help me with my overgrown yard, until I got this tool. It was so easy for me to charge and use. I thought it might be heavy on my wrist but it wasn't. I thought the battery would wear down before I did but it didn't. Actually there was an element of fun going after my bushes with this thing and the soft whining sound it made caused my neighbor to look over the fence to see what I was up to. Nothing bad to say about this tool so far; used it 3 times in as many days. My only quibble is about plugging in the charger to the battery for charging. It's a strange connector and the plug doesn't fit into the battery socket easily. Must jimmy the connector on. Am concerned that this will fail in the future if used too many times as the plug may deform. ... show more
