Someday I will have one of those lovely wooden infrared saunas in my bedroom. It feels wonderful and so healing after an illness, stressful day or a workout. Until that day, this is the next best thing. 4 years later it has not caught on fire (I check regularly. Those pictures in the reviews are scary) and this is the best 3x3 feet in my home. Does it take blankets to keep it at temperature? No. Do the blankets help? Yes. If I have someone near me I will have them drape a fuzzy polyester blanket over me and wrap my neck in a towel. When I first got this sauna I would try to drape a blanket over me while inside. That was too fumbly and took away from the relaxation of the experience and I get plenty warmth without it. It is just warmer and gets heated up faster with a cover. I see references to getting inside and then inserting the horizontal rods. I might be wrong but I dont think mine came with any back when I purchased this. Over time the top began to buckle and the sides did get closer and closer to my outer thighs each time I went in. Too hot to be that close so I got a pvc pipe cut to size (38”) and once I am in I just place it horizontally in front of the zipper and it stays all by itself. It took years for that to become an issue, though. I am average sized for a woman and I fit in very comfortably. The chair is still in great shape. I do put a towel over it to keep it from digging into my legs. Notes to make the experience even better. -I place a tea towel with a few drops of essential oil on it over the foot pad. This way it is not as hot on my feet and smells divine. -a folding tv tray nearby to hold your book, phone, noise machine and water is only $10 and so nice. Your arms can only do so much when they are peaking out of the zipper holes. -This is a great time for kindle reading with a remote page turner. -I keep my draping blanket on top all of the time so it can warm up even faster. It also makes sure my cat doesn't find her way inside in between uses. -Have a bathtub of cool water ready and instant “cold plunge” after you sauna…without the ice. -Dry brush right before your sauna. -Oil right after the sauna before you bathe. You will have the softest skin ever. -My sauna has never gotten stinky because I let it stay unzipped and open after use until fully cool and dry. That isnt long. I take my chair towel out and a the sauna is dry and cool after my shower. -I do not suggest a scrub right after. Just a washcloth is more than enough to exfoliate after a sauna. The moisture and extra circulation make skin too sensitive for a scrub right after. -I have kids so I am not going in naked. I searched and found the best thing to wear inside is loose cotton clothes. I got three pairs of cheap sofi shorts and lose cotton tank tops and I feel covered without blocking any infrared rays. :) ----------------I bought this after hearing all of the news about how good a dry infrared sauna is for you. Skin, energy, sleep, muscle soreness after workout. I put off getting it for a while and then went for it. I am very glad that I did. It basically comes out of the box all put together. It just unfolds and you plug it in. The chair is not the most comfy and I put a towel on it to add some cushion to the sides of it. The front of the sauna lets some of the heat out so I have my husband but a blanket on it while I am in there. I can do it myself but I lose alot less heat if I hurry and enclose myself in the sauna and let him do the blanket drape. I am at about 140 degrees for half an hour every other day. I get a great sweat! But, I am comfy and come out feeling wonderful and not depleted. Someday, I will have a wooden one but for now this is a great step in the process.

This dry/infrared sauna is a great value and does as it promises. I'm not quite 6 feet tall and do fit. You can remove the chair, close the top flap and sit inside if you can handle the heat (be careful, obviously). I put a towel inside beneath the chair and a smaller one around my neck to catch sweat and keep the sauna as dry as possible. Afterwards I unzip it and turn a box fan on it to make sure it's dry before folding it back up, which itself takes 1-2 minutes. The foot pad has three heat settings and the hottest would cook an egg, so it's low or medium for me. I put the under-the-chair towel over it as well so my feet aren't directly on the pad. I purchased this because I get cold in the winter and can take only so many hot baths or showers in a day. Having had it just a few days, I now see it as a great value that offers an invigorating experience along with health benefits. Have your water or electrolyte drink nearby because you will want to and will need to hydrate. So far, I've been able to stay inside for only 30 minutes at 130 or 140 (degrees F) before tapping out. You might run it once or twice one its own to help dissipate the vinyl smell. Also, I preheat for 10 minutes before entering. Your cat may try to get inside while it's cooling down because it's pretty cozy in there. I'm being funny in the picture, but I can see work-from-home types using this while they're working.

TL;DR... It works a treat. I get my sweat on about an hour before going to bed at night. Once I cool down, I pretty much melt into bed. Well worth the money spent. More detail: It's kinda strange in outward appearance, but it functions well. Set-up is super easy, and cleanup (the foot mat) is a breeze. I always let it air out overnight before closing and covering it with a black blanket in the morning. Heat up time is 10-15 minutes, depending on ambient temperature. Once you're locked into your sweat, the temp fluctuates 2-6°, but that's actually a bonus as I near the end of my 30 minute 😳 session. The only reason I'm not awarding a 5th star is because I'm 6'1 and it's cramped. From front to back, there's only barely 33 inches of space, so minimal leg space. The included chair is is tiny, but comfortable enough. Honestly, beating the heat is more of an obstacle. Can't speak to durability beyond about 6 months, but no reason to think it won't last. Zipper seems to be holding up well and I would assume that's the only part of the unit that would actually wear out. Time to get your own sweat on. 😉

A L❤️VED MY SEEENE LIFE SAUNA ‼️I am a long-distance runner who was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis years ago. As God is very good, they never found it anymore, but many of my joints were damaged. I bought this SereneLife sauna in June 2022, and it changed my life. After getting this sauna, I went back to running 4 miles, then 6 miles, then 7 miles. This is my favorite item in my house - probably tied with my electric tea kettle! I use it with my treadmill so much. What this sauna did for me: ∙Made pain vanish ∙Helped me sleep better at night ∙Allowed me to run the next day ∙Kept my stomach flat ∙Melted away fatigue * Gave me energy * Helped me sleep like a baby * Kept cortisol down * Helped me stay slim I used it almost every day at least 4 days a week - for 30-40 minutes. I’d drink my electrolytes, put on spiritual content, healing scriptures ( my favorite) , or meditative music and just heal. The little folding chair inside is perfect, and the heated foot pad brings everything to another level of relaxation. The heat spreads throughout your body and melts away pain, fat, and fatigue. My situation now: Last year I started experiencing new pain that doctors couldn’t identify. I was away from home and my sauna for a while. When I came back in November 2024 to use my beloved sauna, I discovered it was broken. The remote control panel won’t turn on - I hear a quick click sound when I plug it in, but no lights come on. Since the remote is built into the machine itself (not a separate handheld piece), I can’t just replace it. I am currently in a chronic pain situation but cannot afford to replace my serene sauna YET. The MRI I took last week says I have Severe Stenosis and a bulge in my spine. 😱I am experiencing extreme pain and loss without my sauna. 😔This machine gave me quality of life, and I miss it desperately. To SereneLife: If there’s any way to repair or replace the remote control panel, I would be forever grateful. This sauna was my lifeline for almost 4 years. To potential buyers: This SereneLife infrared sauna is worth every penny. If you’re looking to reduce pain and have a better quality of life, stay slim , have more energy and sleep better - this machine will help you. I regularly wiped it down and took care of it, and it served me faithfully for nearly 4 years of heavy daily use. I’m sure God will bless me with healing again. Things to think about before purchasing: You need to be a tiny, petite person to fit comfortably in the sauna. I'm 5'9" and with the chair back against the back of the box my knees were pushing against the front and I had to have my feet tucked back behind my knees. I'm slim and had a folded towel on the seat, but still the knobs of the chair dug into my thighs. The heat panels are across the back and partway across the sides. No heat near the front. I used it for 15 minutes the first time after pre-heating it. My knees and legs never got warm. Because I had to be positioned so close to the heat panels, when I got out after only 15 mins. my back and upper arms looked like I had a sun burn. I am sadly disappointed in this sauna and am now packing it all up and returning it.

I was skeptical that this could have the effect of a sauna but after using it for a couple of months I find it to be very hot, I sweat a ton and I feel a lot better for it. It’s a lightweight quilted box with bars that snap into place to frame it out, I don’t fold it up so I can’t speak on that but after siting in the provided chair, I snap the bar across the front which gives me support to comfortably hold my phone or watch tv. Don’t hold and press buttons in controls, press and release quickly to turn it on. First time I did 8 min, I now do at least 20 min, if I’m well hydrated, 30 min. I sleep better, have more energy and highly recommend if you have health issues… even if you don’t! It’s easy to move around when I have company, very happy I have it since I have Lyme because heat kills bacteria and parasites.
