We go through skimmers for our swim spa like nobody's business. This skimmer is well built and very durable. A lot of the previous poles were flimsy and broke at the connections. But this one is very strong and it is lightweight. The added small scoop on the end is great for skimming the bottom of the swim spa and catching smaller debris. It has a smaller mesh so catches tiny debris. Highly recommend!

I like this pool skimmer. Its shape is great with the edge to scoop things into the fine mesh netting. It even gets the little bitty bugs out. The handle is an easy snap system to make it the length you want. You will have to remove a section if you want to change the length. It doesn’t really telescope for immediate change in length. No problem with that for me. My only issue is that I dented the handle but tapping it on the side of an above ground pool rail. Like really dented it! I suppose it’s why it is a lighter weight. Oops.

Material quality: I got hyped up over some reviews this had thinking this would be better than a basic walmart skimmer. I went to use this and the ultra fine skimmer, though it catches a lot is very loose. The poles are flimsy. The very first important pole, the part that pop out don't go out far enough to hold in place in the skimmer itself. Therfore the skimmer just rotates constantly when you go to use it. I had to remove the first piece of pole, and insert a different part to get it to "lock" in place. Which results in water leaking everywhere. It's not the end of the world but I expected better. 🤷♀️

I found that after a rain here the surface of my pool gets filled with small flies (1-2mm size). My regular net wont remove them so I purchased and tested this one. The pole is 4 pieces of aluminum that fit together easily (and well) with the net on the top (bottom). Its about 6 feet long and fairly sturdy (I havent had any problem yet). Because of the very fine mesh, you have to skim a little more delicately to prevent a bow-wave. However, with some care it does skim very small insects and tiny pieces of floating plant material that are unlikely to be pulled into the pool filter intakes and will not be removed with a normal pool skimmer. EDIT: The mesh started tearing after about a year rendering it useless.
