Model W31-N15 is not compatible with Alexa. It has no Bluetooth, no wifi, and the QR code doesn't work. This model is outdated and doesn't work with the app. Model W41-N15A is .3watts stronger, and the QR code works. It is Alexa compatible, and also works with the app. Neither of these bulbs can be quickly setup though, and neither QR code is accepted by the app. There's another model out there that's Bluetooth compatible, and I highly recommend that over these. These two models aren't comparable for color depth and brightness, as that .3watts makes a HUGE difference. When you receive these, be sure you at least have the W41-N15A model, as these are ideal. This model will serve you well.

First, ignore my messy table in the pictures, I’m only human. Second, I loved these lights at first, now I’m annoyed. I’ve never had an Alexa before so I bought the echo, then I got these bulbs. I can control from my phone no matter where I’m at. The other night I was bored at work and started messing with the lights and playing random music messing with my husband lol. For never having an Alexa, let alone these light bulbs, this was not hard at all to set up. I love the colors, and you can dim the light too. 10/10 recommended at first , now it’s down to 7/10 bc they’re disconnecting from my WiFi and it’s irritating.

I only bought this because it was on sale as part of a bundle with the Echo 5. I thought it would be really cool to own a color changing light. Being a person who has no experience with this, I just assumed it would be quick and easy to set up. Lies and deceit. I spent weeks trying to get this thing to connect to my Echo. It never did. After lots of trouble shooting, I finally go on YouTube to the company’s instructional videos on how to reset the light bulb. In the comments, everyone is saying that this light will not connect to the Sengled or Matter apps nor the Amazon Echo. In short, it is a useless incredibly expensive regular white lightbulb that will waste hours of your life trying to make it change colors and it never will. Don’t buy this. End rant.

It would not connect to Alexa at first, and after multiple tries and resets, I asked the Lord to make it work, promising the leave the sinful path and mend my evil ways. Next try it connected and it works very well. The instructions did not mention prayer.

These bulbs work fine, until they lose power. If they lose power for even a moment they lose their connection, need to be completely removed, then you need to wait 10-15 minutes for it to be fully reset, then you need to re-add it as a brand new device, including all the lost settings. It's a huge pain. I don't understand why it doesn't auto-reconnect. I bought these for my Grandma (she loves that Alexa talks to her), but I have to drive out there and reset the lights every few weeks because any time she accidentally turns off or unplugs one of these, even for just a minute, it refuses to work again.

As this was my first smart bulb, I jumped into the setup process before I really knew what was needed. I ran into some oddities and it wasn’t getting recognized properly. Resetting the bulb sounds easy, but in practice it was a bit tricky (for me). I do recommend that when performing initial set up in your house, make sure it is near one of your controlling devices (I.e. the echo dot). Once it is fully set up and working, THEN move it to where you want it installed. I was also surprised that there is a finite number of colors, rather than a color wheel. I may have missed this in the description, or maybe it is just standard on custom color bulbs. Either way, the available colors are going to work for us.
