These sticks are great! My son loves them. They are light and durable, and a great price. But the best feature for us is the color selection! My son’s school colors are blue and gold, so we ordered him the blue ones as a surprise. We inadvertently solved another issue. Every kid knows THAT kid. The one who’s parents refuse to replace their stuff because they don’t take care of it. We shall call him Kevin. Kevin is the kid who will drum on everything with his sticks, except the drum head. Walls, chairs, stands, books, heads, and from the looks of his sticks, a rabid Tasmanian devil. His sticks are always beat to hell from one end to the other. Kevin is also that kid who will swap his sticks with any other kid who turns their head for a second, because his mom and dad refuse to replace his sticks anymore, since he won’t take care of them. Kevin also picks his nose frequently, so no one wants their sticks back after he has switched them. But now, since my boy has these bright blue sticks that no one else in the class has, they are Kevin proof!!! He can’t switch them, since everyone else has the natural wood colored sticks. Relief! No more replacing sticks every month! So, buy these sticks and don’t be a Kevin!!!

One of my students started band this year and needed sticks. I ended up getting him these and he enjoys them. They are helping him learn drumming. I've used them once or twice and the balance seems as good as I remember. The only knocks and why this gets 4 versus 5 stars is the bead and how easy the wood gets knicks. The bead is wood which is good for beginners but not super versatile and would be better with a rubber cover and the shaft of the stick is not great quality and rather easy to knick if you do snare taps with the stick.
