This mug is a mom's dream come true! it looks like a regular mug but keeps your coffee warm which is basically impossible with two boys running around my house. Here are my thoughts after my first couple of uses: The Mug: At first, it seemed a tiny bit heavy coming out of the box, but I love how comfortable it is when I am drinking my coffee. The color is gorgeous, and it feels very high quality. Quick heads up, It's a hand wash deal, but trust me, that extra minute is totally worth it. Set-Up: The manual that comes with the mug was helpful, but really the mug is simple to use. You press one button to control everything. I love the little icons on the mug that show you what temperature you're drinking at. Heating: I was sold the moment this thing took room temperature coffee and brought it back to deliciously warm. It works super well, and I like that on the coaster it keeps your coffee warm however long you're drinking it. It also turns itself off automatically, which is necessary in my household. If you're a busy mom who is desperate for a hot cup of coffee, get yourself a Thermacup ASAP!

After a complete disappointment with the much costlier Ember self-heating mug, I tried this Thermacup, for about 1/3 less money. While the Ember boasts Bluetooth management from your phone, I found that to be (a) completely unnecessary, and (b) a poorly implemented complexity that made the cup almost unusable. This Thermacup has a physical on/off button (What??? No remote control???) and three heat levels you can cycle through with the power button. It has three status lights to indicate the temperature, and the selected heat level slowly pulses until the cup is up to temperature. It's simple and works every time. I would have given it five stars, but I found the battery life, at the lowest setting (which is plenty hot), wasn't quite as long as the Ember, or quite as long as I need. This means that I keep the charging coaster on my desk instead of in the kitchen, and if I were carrying the cup out to the front porch, I'd have to use the lid. By the way, the included lid works great, and comes with a replacement rubber gasket. (The Ember lid costs extra.)

Updated 6/30/24 Mug stopped charging 6/29/24 about 4 months after purchase. Given all the other issues, would NOT recommend. Revising review to 1 star. Original review: We got one of these to keep coffee hot over a fairly long period of time (about an hour). In this, it succeeds though with a couple caveats. First, it's very slick. You need to grab it by the handle, it has slipped out of my hands more than once. You really don't want to be dropping a 60-100 dollar coffee cup. Also, capacity is barely adequate. On the Keurig, it will only hold the middle setting, not large. Adding milk, etc. reduces this further. Finally, and most annoying of all, the charging suffers from a flaw where the cup always turns itself ON once you start charging. This results in A) the cup heating unnecessarily causing wear and B) the charging process taking MUCH longer than needed. Further confounding this annoying charging process, when you initially place the cup on the charger it gives a faint glow and doesn't turn on. So you can't immediately turn it off. It's only after several minutes that it turns on. To be clear - this happens whether or not the cup is actually "on" when you charge it. And to add insult to injury, the automatic turn off motion sensor seems to be DISABLED during charging. The cup doesn't turn off until the battery is fully charged. Hopefully a version 2.0 will address these VERY annoying issues. If the cup worked as advertised, I'd happily pay the normal retail price, which seems to fluctuate wildly between 60-100 USD.
