THIS IS ONE OF MY MOST FAVORITE PURCHASES/APPLIANCES EVER. PROS: - I never smell a thing (well I did once, but that could have been the dog walking by) ha! - It seriously has saved so much time and nagging at my teens to clean the litter box (yeah yeah, "they need to learn", "a littler box costs $5", etc. etc. but if you get any extra $$, def adds peace of mind. - Break it down to cost per day and it will be easier to get over the $$ hurdle. - The app is pretty lame, but so far, it has worked no problems. OPINION: - The first thing I want to say is that for reviews that say it gets stuck or stops turning, I have had mine now for 6 months. I was having some of these issues a week ago, so I took it apart to deep clean. - It was SO easy to take apart and put back together. Works like a charm and how it has been working for the whole time, until it needed a cleaning. CONS: - "Clean a cleaning device? WTF?" Yeah, I can see why people would be annoyed this needs to be done at all, but I have found recently (in my middle-age!) that the *things we use to clean* also need to be maintained and cleaned. Yes, it's irony at its best. - I will also add that my teenager has mostly been responsible for this entire operation, so she may have overloaded the litter box a few times. - I am including a few snaps, sorry for the actual #2s from the cat, but it shows how it can get caught over time. PHOTOS: --Where things get stuck: the photos that include the mess of litter and waste, those show where things were getting stuck, it still worked, but the litter was starting to spill out a bit and it got stuck twice mid clean. --Cleaning: I literally just turned the dome so the waste would slide out the inside opening, used a cleaning brush to dust off and a little windex to finish it off. ADDITIONAL NOTES: INTERIOR ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS: The photo that includes the electrical board/etc. is there to show what not to clean or get wet. Mine was dry as a bone and that's how it should be (e.g. I didn't get any windex on it). POST CLEAN: The last photo shows how it looked 99% of the time, and how it looked after I cleaned it and put back together. WHICH IS SUPER EASY. LITTER: I use The World's Best Cat Litter. Pretty sure you can use whatever little you want, but I have not tested various kinds so do your research there. APP: I put the app icon on my main page because I kept forgetting what the thing was even called. That's my .02 Hope it helps someone :) ... show more

I liked this cat litter box enough to purchase a 2nd unit. The selling points were the customer service, this company will back their product. There are no proprietary components needed to use this litter box. The design is solid and reliable after using our original unit for over 3 months. However, this unit is not perfect. What I've found is connecting this unit to wifi can sometimes be spotty. After a power outage I spent close to 30 min trying to reconnect to my network. Once it connects I've had no issues though. Cleaning, I used a hose to clean one of my units and got water in it's electric components which rendered the unit inoperable. I was up front with customer customer support, and they offered me a replacement for 50% off. There are many similar models that may be just as good or better but my main concern is going with a company that supports their customers. Comparing this to a Cat Genie I have in my attic now, this units design is much more reliable and we've had no issues with it after I realized it has stabilizers that require the unit to be on a completely flat surface in order for it to complete all the cycles . One unit should easily support 1-2 cats and we've gotten by with 1 unit for our 3 cats but found that 2 units is optimum. Function is simple: connect to wifi, open tray and remove bag of waste and every week. Use function to have the unit dump all the litter into the waste bag when its time to replace the litter. Smell is minimal, we have our units out back in our lanai but believe it would come down to the quality of litter used and how often you cycle new litter. I have yet found a way to control the unit manually, but through the phone app it is very easy. You can set alerts to notify if machine is offline. Prior to purchasing this, I don’t even know how many reviews I read and YouTubed best self cleaning litter box. It was a lot!! Honestly, I expected to have issues or just not like it because I have a litter robot and I believe most people feel it is superior in the terms of self cleaning. Well…this little thing is awesome!! I am so glad I purchased it. It works great. Super simple to set up. I rarely use the app. I use clay litter (newly discovered Boxiecat clay litter is the best I’ve ever tried) and it works perfect with the litter box. I did not have any issues with it functioning as it should. My cats took to it pretty quickly. Not sure if it’s because it’s new but they stopped using the litter robot. I currently have to cats and will have 4 by the end of the month so I needed to prepare and make sure I had products that work well and I like. One of my cats is a little on the bigger side, I don’t think so but that’s usually what friends say when they see him, and he jumps right in and uses the litter box no problems. I think it looks a bit small for him but he doesn’t seem to think so. I have it set to I believe 7 min or maybe longer…can’t remember. One thing I’m super surprised about is how clean it stays. Maybe bc my litter robot is black it seems dirtier but this one stays super clean. I have it in my bedroom and when I walk in, no smell at all. I have it right next to my bed! I’m so impressed that there’s no odor. Honestly if I had to purchase another self cleaning, I would go with this one over the litter robot. It’s more affordable and works just as well if not better. I’m super happy with this purchase and I highly recommend it. Oh I have the bath mat in front because I do get some tracking but so does the litter robot so it’s to be expected. ... show more
