These dual-wheel castors are a clever compromise of design between the standard dual-wheel castors included with most chairs and the blade-wheel style that have gained popularity more recently. The wheels are only 2” in diameter, so they’re slightly shorter than the single-wheel blade style castors I’ve come across. They don’t turn as well on a carpeted floor with a carpet mat as they do on a hard floor. My carpet mat is relatively firm, but the wheels still push down into the carpet under the mat a bit. I think it’s the slightly smaller diameter of these wheels, and maybe also the dual-wheel design, but it seems like it’s a little harder for them to roll and turn on carpet than on hard floor. On hard floor, these castors feel great. Whichever floor you use them on, they glide smoothly and quietly. RECOMMENDED ... show more

    • A Nice Upgrade From Basic Plastic Rollers
These 2in soft chair casters are budget-friendly and easy to install. I installed them on my office chair with no tools and in just a few minutes. Overall, I think these are a great upgrade from the basic plastic castors that come with most chairs and the soft rubber will protect wood floors. Unfortunately, I had to take a star away because they seemed to have trouble turning around themselves when seated and pushing back. I also have a set of these in black for my office chair and I love how quiet and smooth they roll. I have no worries about them scratching my wood floor. I got a set in white because I have a cute little vanity stool with a white cushion and I thought the white wheels would look great with it. As you can see, it's more of a dull gray in reality. They still look fine and function really well, but if you're looking for crisp white, these will disappoint. Maybe they sent the wrong ones, but I ordered white and the box says white, so I'm not sure why mine are very different than the picture. ... show more

Wheels spin nicely. I feel they'd be a little better with the pin a little closer to the center of the wheels, but they still turn fairly well when moving the chair. Decent budget replacement wheels.

These are nice replacement casters that use soft wheels, exactly like you would find on a pair of Rollerblades. I provided a picture of an original chair caster next to the new one, and you can see the obvious differences, yet they are the same size. Replacing the wheels was a snap, I used a large flat tip screw driver to pry out the old wheel, and the new one just slides in firmly, with a click at the end. I did five wheels in three minutes, but I was trying to go as fast as I could. The performance is very nice, but different that the stock wheels. With the stock wheels, there was some slipping of the wheels across the floor mat, due tot he fact they are totally smooth and are hard plastic. These new wheels do not slip at all. When you try to move in a direction that is not the same as the direction the wheels are pointing, then your chair encounter stiff resistance, until you provide enough force to make the wheels change direction. The wheels have excellent grip, because . . . Rollerblade wheel . . . and this is the trade off. Once the wheels are lined up, and you're moving, you'll be gliding along, as the wheels perform very well. If you have a delicate floor, and your chair will be off of a mat, then these wheels provide some protection. For the excellent quality, the price is very reasonable.     • I wish I had known about these chair wheels sooner
The chairs sold by the big box office supply stores must use the cheapest wheels possible. I really messed up the wood floor in my office by not using a mat underneath my chair for an extended period of time. When these arrived, I flipped my office chair over, and proceeded to pull out the original wheels with a long nose pliers, then get the new wheels inserted into the holes with some slight force. It was not a difficult process. At first I was using these with a rubber mat that I had gotten on Amazon, but the combination of these wheels and that mat were not good - it was hard to move the chair because the wheels were sticking/sinking into the mat. So I pulled up the mat, and let the wheels roll right on the bare floor. The end result was smooth and noise-free rolling, without hard plastic digging into the wood floor. These are great. I want to get another set for my son's "gaming" chair. ... show more

    • Great wheels and super quiet
I ordered these because the plastic ones were pretty noisy, even on a mat that I have. These wheels roll really easy, are super quiet, and were super easy to install. You just pull the old ones off, might take a little strength to get them off depending on your chair, and then just pop them right in, only took about a minute. If you are using your chair on deep carpet, it doesn't roll real easy but still a little better than those plastic wheels that come on a chair. ... show more
