    • Decent door alarm with great range

We use two of these on toddler doors to give us a heads up at night when they get out of bed. It's better to wake up to a doorbell chime than to a toddler staring at you in the dark. If you're a parent, you know what I'm talking about. These have good range and work across our house easily. Two of them work fine and don't have any crossover since they are paired separately. Batteries last a long time - at least a year in our case. My only gripe is the included sound options. There are a LOT of them and they are honestly pretty awful. Loud, obnoxious MIDI renditions of classical music mostly. Definitely useful for getting your attention, but a little irritating. There are a few shorter tones too which is what we use. Volume options range from LOUD to LOUDER, which is pretty helpful too. ... show more

When you pull the plastic diffuser out to activate the battery, it moves the battery and spring out of place. This caused ours to send out phantom chimes( no one opening the door). I went to the troubleshooting guide that Amazon required the manufacturer to post and followed the directions and now it works perfectly ... show more

The door chime works great. It was easy to install and set up. I like the many door bell options. The only thing is that even on the lowest volume setting it is pretty loud. Ended up putting a piece of tape over the speaker hole to lessen the noise.

I have had an alarm on my garage man door for decades and sooner or later - even with a fresh battery - they just stop working. I don't have a more sophisticated alarm system installed yet there, so it is useful to me to know when that door is being opened. This is a nice little alarm with a lot of musical options. I was surprised the highest volume isn't stunningly high. It isn't exactly quiet, but I expected to need the middle setting rather than all the way to the top. The key to installation is having less than a .4" gap between the magnet and the transmitter. Since few of us do physical measurements in tenths of an inch and that particular length falls somewhere between 3/8" and 1/2", it would have been a great idea to show on the instructions exactly what that dimension looks like so you could work around it. Concerned about having too large a gap, I installed the transmitter too close to the edge of the door and will need to move it this Spring when it is warmer to work out there. I also had a very hard time using the teeny short screws that came with it. The door is metal so I am hoping the sticky pad is sufficient to continue to hold the magnet on well. There is no information regarding use of something like Gorilla Glue under the magnet or Gorilla tape over it. Information like that would have been helpful. I have no idea what melody I selected for the chime but it is longer than just a single-tone ding which I appreciate, as it would be easy to miss a short burst amidst the other commotion here. It wasn't clear to me which parts of the directions were meant for every installation (a 'quick start' guide) vs. whether or not this set needed to be paired (it doesn't). All of that said, I think I will enjoy the melody and notification the door is opening if the two parts mounted on the door and frame will stay up until I can install it better in the Spring. ... show more

The bell is Loud and does what it’s supposed to do. Only reason I went with 4 stars is because I’d like extra adhesive since the small sensor seems to keep coming off and sometimes I wish there was an app or remote for the sound selection but I’m otherwise satisfied!
