  • I can't understand the negative reviews.
Color: Multi
I loved everything about my Maytronics Dolphin EXCEPT the cord. It would always wrap itself around our railing. I checked out 5 different cordless models this past summer (9 months ago). The Seauto line-up has great products for any pool. I tried both the Shark and Seal. Ultimately, I returned the Shark because the Seal was more than enough for my kidney shaped pool with pebble tech finish. The Shark was actually overkill for my pool and because where the wall and floor meet isn't 90°, the Seal was all I needed. Although not advertised, the Seal does aggressively scrub water line. Furthermore, some people criticize Seauto's customer service. This was not my experience at all. I sent them an email and they promptly replied. Seauto is a new company to the pool game and they love their product as much as I do. They're built to last and you can even replace the battery unit which is a feature nobody else offers. Another great part about this company being new-ish is that their pricing is more than fair. You can easily compare the Shark and Seal to models in the $1200-$1500 range. The sonar system is spot on. I can tell because the drain is perfectly centered at the bottom of our deep end...because an engineer designed it. When the robot's sonar scans the pool it goes exactly to the drain spot (handles the lip of drain cover perfectly) because it is perfectly centered. People often complain about the app. functionality not being able to work under water. They would like to be able to use it like a remote control for "spot cleaning." There is one robot that offers that functionality successfully, but it is over $2k...not worth the extra $ for that little bit of functionality in my opinion. Furthermore, the Seal and Shark work so well, I've never needed remote control style function. Motors are really strong, battery life is excellent, and it even picks up large heavy leaves from my magnolia tree. The basket capacity is huge too. It is my fear that Seauto will lose support by a few negative reviews from people who may not understand electronics or expect underwater wifi ad if it was the roomba in their living room. If you have the 90° get the Shark. If your wall slopes to the floor, the Seal is more than enough...again, it climbs wall effortlessly and scrubs waterline better than any robot I've used, corded or cordless. ... show more

  • Worked great for 4 months… then it stopped
Color: Gray
The media could not be loaded. Summary: really great when it works, however beware as ours only lasted 5 months First off, we were really excited to give this a try. The idea of not worrying about a pool pump to clean and no pool hoses to the pool cleaner sounded awesome… and it was! For the first 5 months this thing was amazing. It did a great job cleaning our in ground pool and was easy to maintain. I recommended it to several of my family members as a result as we were initially thoroughly impressed. Unfortunately, around 4 1/2 months the last cycle it ran we noticed it was more floating on the pool surface vs being suctioned to it. We took it out of the pool and ensured it was clear of any debris and emptied the basket like normal. Plugged it back in to charge, waited the full charge time (ours was about two hours), and as you can see from the video nothing turns on correctly. We tried setting it out in the sun to see if fully drying it would help and it didn’t. Tried turning it on and as you can hear from the video, it makes a weird humming sound and doesn’t work. Very disappointed. For a $300+ product, it should have lasted way longer than 5 months. Ouch. Another call out is we tried to find a customer support phone number and their website is no longer available online and we can’t find any other way to contact them. Feels like we’ve been duped, but maybe we got a bad unit. Either way, disappointing. ... show more

  • Very good
Color: Gray
This is my first pool robot. Pool is 16x32 The WORSE thing that I’ve found is that while in wall mode it occasionally hits the skimmer and of course all water is blocked if the pump is going. Turn pump off before to save from the pump running dry. My pool has sloped sides in the deep end at 9 feet deep and slopes up to the shallow end at 3 feet deep so I didn’t know how this would perform. It seems to do best with the sloped sides after it learns the walls in the shallow end first. There has been occasions where it doesn’t “climb” the walls in the deep end. It has to turn “up” so much before the propeller kicks in to hold it against the walls. The battery lasts as stated and vacuums up the tiniest of particles up to big leaves. The self righting feature works as designed. I have stairs in the shallow end and it does climb them. When it comes to the last stair and comes up out of the water it shuts down the vacuum part and after a few seconds it reverses back down the stairs and goes elsewhere. The floor only feature works good and it tracks very well to cover every part of the floor. It does seem to “map” out the pool floor as it doesn’t miss any parts in floor mode only. It does have problems in the deep sloped ends as it senses the slope and understands the slope as the wall and turns around quit often in floor mode. In all cover mode it is random about cleaning and has no set cover mode like floor mode. It does speak to you and let you know which cleaning mode it is in. The app is very helpful but the robot must be near Wi-Fi and Bluetooth must be turned on the phone for the app to operate. The basket is easy to release and clean. Other than it not sensing when it’s stuck in the skimmer this robot is very good. The one piece of advise for the engineers is while cleaning the waters edge in wall/all cover mode have one track be slightly slower than the other so it will sort of creep along the edge instead of bobbing up and down in one spot. I do this manually when I’m near it but this would be another “above the rest ” type feature for advertising. No compensation expected but very good advice for business. I do wish a replacement battery was advertised along with the robot. I haven’t called the number to see about getting a replacement for future use however. All in all I’m very satisfied with this robot and don’t see a reason to buy another competitor’s product as this does everything needed. ... show more
