  • It works for me!
Size: 5TB Style: External HDD
I have done a ton of research over the past two years, because I run a content studio and I need to store all of our media files externally. I have used several different external drives, over the years and this one has been the best, by far. Yes, you can get one that will be faster or have even more capacity. But you will pay for it. I have no problem with the speed of moving files from my desktop to the external. In short there are two kinds of external drives HDSs - These have been around for a long while. They are stable, but not as fast as newer SSD SSDs - These are newer flash based memory and are often MUCH faster and MUCH more expensive. If you buy an HDS (which is NOT SLOW) and expected it to as fast as SSDs - You got what you paid for. For my needs, HDS is fast enough. I move folders containing very large 4k and HD files, in aminute or two ... show more

  • Quality!
Size: 5TB Style: External HDD
I have a 1TB Seagate external drive that I've had for several years and never had a problem with. I still have and use my "monster" 500 GB Seagate Free Agent drive on occasion, which is over ten years old and still runs flawlessly. I now have a 5TB drive where I have backed both of them up and I know all my data is safe and will be for many years. It's fast and reliable, and I love all of them! I am an, A+ Certified Tech and have always loved Seagate drives for their stability. I can't judge for tech support rating because I have never needed it because I've never had a single issue with any of them. When I upgrade to a 20TB drive it will be another Seagate of course! ... show more

  • Great for Storage!
Size: 1TB Style: External HDD
I purchased two of these Seagate Portable 1TB External Hard Drives to expand my storage solutions, and I must say, they've exceeded my expectations! Right from the get-go, the shipping was fast and the drives were securely packaged. The setup was a breeze - just plug and play. I use them with my PC, PlayStation, and even my Xbox without any hiccups. The USB 3.0 ensures the data transfer is speedy, which is crucial when I'm transferring game files or large documents. What I really appreciate is the 1-Year Rescue Service provided. It adds that extra layer of security, knowing that I have a backup in case things go south. The drives themselves are compact and have a sleek black design, making them a stylish addition to my setup. They are also highly portable, so I can take my files wherever I go. I also appreciate the affordability of these drives, making them an excellent value for the money. I've received compliments on them from friends who've noticed the sleek design and the quick data access times. I highly recommend these Seagate Portable drives to anyone in need of reliable, portable, and affordable storage solutions. They're a solid investment for anyone looking to expand their digital horizons without breaking the bank. ... show more

  • How to pair with Mac
Size: 2TB Style: External HDD
To help anyone having issues with it being compatible with a Mac: I had to go to disk utility, select the external hard drive, then click erase. A dialogue box popped up that asked me to rename it (I didn’t because it didn’t seem to like that) and also select the processor. I was able to switch it from PC to Mac. Then it erased successfully. I used disk utility to check its health and it was good. I’m now able to actually save things to this hard drive and I’m cautiously optimistic. Note that the hard drive appeared immediately for me unlike other users who didn’t see it on their desk top. My issue was that even though it was visible, it didn’t let me save anything to it at all. Hope this helps someone! ... show more

  • Good for Price
Size: 1TB Style: External HDD
This is a pretty good drive for the price. I purchased as an extra backup for my personal computer, as my old external is getting up there in age. I will say that this packaging was slightly deceptive at first; not the typical box I'm used to seeing from a store, however it's simply bulk packaging. (Cardboard box w/ seal sticker.) Looking at other reviews other buyers had the same packaging, so I wasn't worried. Upon opening and plugging into my Mac, I did see that it was formatted for Windows, with only Windows instructions. It really should include Mac as well. To Mac buyers saying it doesn't work for Mac: *you must reformat it first.* Google 'reformat external hard drive for steps. Once reformatted, mine worked perfectly. ... show more
