Description

The Sea to Summit Nano Pyramid Net Ultralight Shelter is a lightweight, portable net for use over a cot, sleeping pad or mattress while backpacking, camping, trekking, and traveling. The asymmetric shape means the apex of the pyramid is closer to the head end for more usable headroom. An elasticized hem makes it easy to achieve a seal against a floor or around a mattress (lift up the side to enter or exit—the Pyramid Net Shelter does not have a zippered door). Colored tapes at each corner and a single suspension point ensure easy setup. Hexagonal mesh, with 500 holes per inch, provides good airflow and the black color ensures high visibility. The Sea to Summit Nano Pyramid Net is available as a single or double shelter (double includes a 22-inch spreader pole for use at the apex). Sea to Summit products are guaranteed against defects in materials or workmanship for the lifetime of the product.

  • Great design
Style: Double
This is a very good, versatile product. I’m writing this review during a typical, actual use of the snap: I’m sleeping out in a mosquito infested words, with no tarp or any other covering because the weather is gorgeous, and I am able to enjoy the woods without the constant drone of mosquitoes in my ear (Or bites on my skin). A simple tree branch above you is all you need to hold up the net. The net itself can either be tucked snugly around the perimeter of the sleeping pad you are using, and it has a drawstring for this purpose, or can we use the way I am using it now – it has stake loops that allow you to stake it out in a fairly wide area around you, giving you a lot of living room. It’s basically like a well ventilated, one person tent for fair weather. The mesh is extremely fine, and this has two benefits: first, of course, it keeps out every conceivable insect. But second, in the dark, it essentially disappears from view, and gives you the feeling that you are just sleeping under the stars out in the open. Very, very pleasant. A well-designed product. ... show more

  • Good product but needs some work and practice.
Style: Double
It was nice material and a nice concept, but it needs a little work to give you full protection. Nice things - the netting fabric seems durable and breathable. The cross pole is nicely designed. Not so great - it uses some elastic string to support the top that doesn't really seem sufficient for outdoors use. Missing in action - a way to stake out the corners. It will creep in and up on you if you don't have anything holding it out but your bag or groundcover. It is also challenge to find a good point to tie the support string. It needs to be straight over head but it is hard to find a clean spot to sleep with something overhead. I ended up stringing some paracord between two trees and tying to the center of the cord. All in all, it works well with some practice and creativity. For summer camping, I got down to a tyvek groundsheet, a coolmax liner and this for my tent. Sub two pounds and I get to see the stars and breath the fresh air. Can't complain about that. ... show more

The bug shelter looks to be a descent item. My reasons for not giving it a better review are it came with 3 holes in it 1/4 ' in diameter. Sea to Summit did not respond to my email. So don't count on customer service to help you if you have a problem. Also if you are a UL backpacker and believe the claimed weight, you will be disappointed. Claimed weight on the package 2.9oz. The net weighted 3.4oz. excluding the stuff sack. The stuff sack adds another .25 oz. ... show more

  • It would be fine in good weather
Style: Double
Getting in and out is kinda hard. I found it easier to undo one stake to get in and out. It would be fine in good weather. If it's going to rain its has to be hung so high to keep it off your face a tarp or anything else would not be able to cover you from the sides.
