The Scosche MSHWDPD20-SP MagicMount MSC Window/Dash Mounting Kit is the perfect solution to quickly and easily convert your Apple MagSafe Charger to an in-vehicle hands-free wireless charging iPhone mount. Secure the StickGrip suction cup mount base to your vehicle’s dashboard, then plug in the 20W USB-C Power Delivery Car Adapter to deliver the perfect amount of power to the MagSafe Charger and wirelessly charge an iPhone 12 with up to 15-Watts of power. The suction cup mount base is reusable, so you can easily remove it, then attach it again to another firm & flat surface area inside your vehicle. To help keep things neat and in place, use the 2 cable management clips to attach your cables and keep them safely out of the way. Rotate the car phone mount head to adjust and swivel it to find your perfect viewing angle of your iPhone mobile device. First off, this is just a plastic mount which holds Apple MagSafe charging puck. And it does it well. Thing you need to know is, the Apple MagSafe puck is made of aluminum and gets super hot in sunny conditions. It is hot enough to burn/damage surfaces. Only solution that works reliably is to fix this mount in front of an AC vent, that cools the charger and charges super fast. The MagSafe on its own has strength to hold my IPhone 14 pro max with a MagSafe case. But the metallic scosche logo on mount is also magnetic which holds the phone reliably. It has survived my off road drives and spirited canyon runs, phone sits rock solid. If you use the swing arm, the mount wobbles but phone still sits mounted. I tried 4-5 MagSafe charger holders for cars with various styles from apogee, Chinese suppliers etc. this is the only one that has held my phone so strong. If you want 15w wireless charging, you have to use Apple MagSafe wireless charger puck. 3rd party wireless chargers max out at 7.5w and is barely enough to maintain battery level with navigation. Overall the Scosche MagSafe car mount works well. The magnet snaps in well with my iPhone 12 Pro Max and doesn't seem to fall off easily (however I don't take my car off-road). Construction-wise so far it seems quite sturdy. From a design perspective, for my use with the air vent mount, the extended arm is a little cumbersome and unnecessary, however I can see how that arm is useful for those who use it with a suction cup instead. It would be nice if the product was adaptable to remove the arm and just have the ball socket straight onto the air vent, and have the arm for the suction cup instead. ... show more

I use this mostly on freeways when going around the city and my phone always slips and falls from the magnet. Using a iPhone 13 pro with apple’s MagSafe case. Case is cracked all around already, don’t recommend this.

I wanted MagSafe charging and already had a charger so I went with this. I have no complaints with this mounting kit except for the mount with adhesive. The double sided tape didn't last in the California heat, it made my mount sag due to it not sticking very well. I replaced it with automotive 3M double sided tape and it works much better. I didn't use the vent mount because I feel like the arm and phone will be to heavy for it to hold. ... show more

Know what you're getting. This requires purchasing the Apple MagSafe charger as well. It provides a form to put the charger into and has options included for either a vent mount or dash mount attachment. I've only used the vent mount. The mechanism of attaching to the vent itself could be improved - I've seen more secure attachments, though your mileage will vary depending on the size and shape of your car's vent. I find I have to press it back in place every now and then as it slips slowly through vibrations and mounting/unmounting over time. However, it works well enough. Other than that, it's great. Having the arm that allows you to position the phone away from the vent and give you some up/down position flexibility is awesome. For iphone12 the MagSafe works well at securing the phone while also charging. It's an amazingly easy way to mount and unmount the phone while getting a charge at the same time. Would be nice to not to buy a charger separately, but if you want a MagSafe approved device your options are pretty limited at this time. ... show more

This product does "not" work if you have a cover for your phone. If you do not use a cover, this product if great! Unfortunately, I use a phone cover. I have the Apple silicone cover. The cover has a spot that protects the camera lens. This hits the edge of the holder. Any little bump in the road and the phone falls off. I tested the holder without a cover and it works great! I used the product, so I would not return it, so... I modified it by cutting away the part of the holder that hit my cover. Now it works perfectly. I would invite the manufacturer to talk to me about how to modify the holder so that it works "all the time" not just on a phone without a holder. ... show more

This is hands down the best looking phone mount I have ever put in my car. It looks fantastic and his a SOLID hold on the phone. It charges vary fast and is the best functioning mount I’ve used. It’s 90% of what I’ve wanted in a car mount for my phone since I got my first non charging magic mount from Scosche. The MagSafe charger really grabs things and no bumpy road is going to knock your phone loose. Love that. The suction cup is ultra sticky just like every other Scosche magic mount I’ve ever bought. I’ve never had a Scosche mount fall off anything or lose suction. Once you put it where you want it, it takes some reasonable effort to get it loose again. The only flaw is due to the MagSafe charging puck. If your car has been sitting in the sun for awhile the metal ring around the puck gets HOT and won’t charge until your your AC cools it off a bit. ... show more
