I ordered 2 mounts but only one arrived. I should have sent it back but took a 50% refund instead, ordered another set and got 2 this time. So I have 3, needed 2. I'll put one in the other car for the passenger. I did another review but It's not here. Maybe they deleted it because I got the refund? They include something called a magic plate that goes between the sticky metal plate and your phone to make it easier to remove the plate if you want to. Wife has a Samsung S22 and that magic plate wouldn't stick to it. 3M Blue masking tape wouldn't stick to it either. It must have some kind of coating. The wife didn't want it stuck directly to the phone so it's held in place by the protective case. It seems to work okay. I have a different unit in my car with a metal plate and it stays in place with just the case holding it there. The car mount was easier. I cleaned up 2 areas on the dash of our 1999 Sienna. I cleaned them with a cleaning tissue for glasses, put one on the driver's left above the A/C vent and the other just below the rear window defrost button. It seems pretty strong so we'll see. I'll update here if there's a change. My phone is a Samsung S8. I added a second metal plate to mine but they slide around, so I peeled off the paper from this holder's plate and put it on the back of the phone and it stuck. I put the other one from the different mount below that one and used the 3M Blue masking tape to see if it stays in place. I put the Otterbox case back on. This seems like a good system. It is certainly designed like what I had in mind. The one in my car mounts in the A/C vent. It's good but once mounted you cannot control the vent. I had to set the vent the way that's most convenient then put the vent mount on and there it stays. With this mount it is on the plastic near the vent so it can keep the phone cool on long trips when I'm using it for navigation. It's adjustable in several directions and the vent can also be adjusted. I'm giving these mounts 5 stars for now. Hopefully everything will go well. I like the convenience of the magnetic mount. If all goes well with the adhesives then I'll keep it 5 stars. ... show more

Mount looks really sharp, small and works great 90 percent of the time. As iPhones have gotten heavier I have had more issues of phone falling when I hit pot hole, etc. Ordering another now because the magnets have lost their hold. Works with my Tacoma because I have a small level spot to attach. Otherwise, you should consider the "vent attachments" which I have in other vehicles. The magnet on my phone is nice and skinny so it fits under my case without causing a bulge. The magnet sticks to the phone holder great. I really like theses and holds my phone great. Now if your going off road then you may have an issue. I use them in my work van and had no issues. I have a Samsung note 10 plus so my phone is on the heavy side and have to tighten the swivel every two weeks or so but still love it. I did have to put the metal tab it uses to magnetize to on the outside of my phone case, my Otter Box case Cas to thick. I used some rubbing alcohol pads it came with to clean the case and metal tab has stayed on with no issues. I would definitely buy it again. ... show more

I got this because my previous phone mount that supported curved surfaces stuck out too far, which got in the way of the gear shift. This one is a lower profile and works perfectly. Only complaint is the mount tape/foam it comes with is really, really bad. It started coming off after a week. Like others have said, don't even bother using it. Buy some 3M VHB tape and use that, instead. If it came with better mounting tape, I'd have given it 5 stars. ... show more
