    • Fast charging and a magnet that actually holds
I finally decided to upgrade my car setup and installed this in my 2009 Acura MDX. Finding a good spot on the dash can be tricky, but the included 3M adhesive mount worked perfectly. I was a little worried about the weight of my phone on bumpy roads, but the magnetic hold is incredibly strong. My phone snaps right into place and does not shift around at all while driving. The charging speed is what really stands out. It delivers on the 25W fast charging claim, so my battery actually goes up even when I am streaming music and running GPS at the same time. You do have to use the included charger plug to get that full speed, which is a bit bulky. My only real complaint is that the charging cable is permanently attached to the mount head. If the cable ever gets damaged, you will have to replace the whole unit instead of just swapping out a cheap cord. Setup was simple enough, but if you decide to use the hard mount plate instead of the adhesive, be careful with the tiny screws. They are extremely easy to drop and lose between your seats. Pros: - Very fast charging compared to older wireless mounts - Magnet is strong and keeps the phone secure on rough roads - Includes both adhesive and hard mounting options Cons: - The power cable cannot be detached from the magnetic head - The included cigarette lighter power adapter is a bit large - The mounting screws for the base plate are very small and easy to lose ... show more

Back in January I purchased a 2014 Chevy Cruze Eco. Space is super limited and I struggled to figure out how and where to put a phone mount. I looked at the semi permanent Pro Clip solution, but was intimidated by it. Instead, I went with a Scosche Magic Mount Pro2 and installed on my curved dash. That lasted a whole 3mos before the glue failed and my mount and phone where on the ground. I was literally looking at another option when this mount popped up and I took it as a sign to go Pro Clip. I had to order the Pro Clip directly from them, but once received and installed in my car, the Scosche mount went right on it. Fair warning - the mounting plate screws are tiny and will be dropped, probably repeatedly, so do yourself a favor and use a magnetic tipped screwdriver. Also, super helpful to have cord clips. The Pro Clip came with 2 and the Scosche mount came with 2 as well. I used all 4 and it worked out perfectly. Hopefully the glue on them will last! As far as performance, the Scosche mount is crazy strong. Holds my magsafe android case firmly and does not moved unless I moved it. These things are all silly expensive. But of them all, I like this one the best. The main selling point was the 4-Hole mounting adapter plate. It also has a 3M tape adhesive adapter if not using screws. This works very well. As with any wireless magnetic adapter that delivers 25watts you must use with the high powered PD/Qi2.2 capable usb-c car or home power adapter. Simply using a cheap adapter or usb-a adapter will only provide max 15watts. The ball mount is only 14mm though. I thought it would be 17mm but not. Not a huge deal, i just had to adapt another adapter I was using to adapt the charger lol. (I extended mine). The magnet holds very well. Charges great. Ball mount tightens strong/tight enough that it stays in place securely. I like the gray color. Very nice. Why get just a magnet holder when this one also charges! For what this is, in the class it is in, despite only being a 14mm ball mount and (all mag chargers) being expensive, based on everything I still give it a 5/5. ... show more

i love the convenience of the wireless ability. It is so easy to attach the phone without having to attach a usb cord. you dont realize how nice that is until you dont have to do it. the quality of the materials is good. doesnt feel cheap in any way. The cigarette lighter charger is very nice. You can use it whether you choose to use the wireless magnetic mount or not. It is a very fast charge which i appreciate. I'm liking this Scosche MagicMount Elite 25w Qi2 (2.2?) Wireless MagSafe Car Mount Charger! I've been using the prior version of this for a while (15w Qi2), and it's worked great. When I saw they had come out with a new 25w version, I thought I'd give it a shot as well, and I haven't been disappointed. While the prior version was a dark gray, this one is black, which matches my car a little better. I had been using a low profile, high output charger plug with the 15w version, but it wouldn't power this. I therefore have to use the provided charger, which is rather long/deep. Other than that, my only gripe is Scosche's continued use of a permanent cable (not usb-usb). Charging speed is excellent, and the magnetic grip is strong. The kit comes with two mounting options: adhesive and hard mount (AMPS plate). The mount is attached to either base with a ball and socket, allowing for a lot flexibility. I was able to use the same mount to attach this new one, so I will be saving the new hardware for future projects. :) ... show more

Okay so I finally caved and got a proper wireless car mount and I genuinely don't know why I waited this long. Been using it every morning on my commute and it's become one of those things that just makes the whole drive feel more put together. The 25W Qi2 charging speed is the real deal. My phone is noticeably more charged by the time I get to where I'm going compared to every other wireless car charger I've tried. No more arriving somewhere with a half drained battery after sitting in traffic. The magnetic hold is really strong and consistent. My phone snaps on instantly and stays locked in place through turns and bumps without any wobbling or shifting. That reliability during daily driving is something I've come to really appreciate. I own a number of Scosche chargers. They are the chargers and mounts we use more than any other. The 3m adhesive ensures once you install this mount it's not going anywhere unless you want to move it. Installation is very easy. Magnetic strength holds your device securely. We primarily use Android devices with 3rd party Magsafe adapters and cases. When it gets right down to it charging speed is one of the most important features of this mount.
