The question is: Is a cup-holder mounted charger right for your car? In my car, the cup holders are quite low, so to see my phone, I have to look down, which isn't ideal. It's a good idea to install the Scosche MagicMount in cup holders that are higher up, like those in many pickup trucks. At a higher level, its easier to view your phone without taking your eyes off the road. The placement and height of your cup holders really matters with this product. The product itself is PERFECT. The Schosche MagicMount Charge Elite lives up to the legendary Scosche name. This product oozes quality. They've thought of every detail with this mount. I've broken it down into four key areas where the MagicMount excels: 1) Charging Speed: this charger features magnetic-mounted high-speed wireless charging according to the "Qi2" standard, which supplies up to 15 watts of charging power. It's fast. 2) Stability: The magnet on this charger is strong. My iPhone 14 Pro snaps into place from an inch away, and holds tight. Bumps in the road don't twist and turn my phone; it stays firmly in place. It's also rock-solid inside my cup holders. My Jeep Compass has very wide cup holders, and they're no problem for the Scosche. With a twist, rubberized stabilizers extend out and lock in place. It's rock-solid. Impressive. 3) Cable Management: I was afraid of having a tangly wire coming out of my charger. Scosche thought of that. The MagicMount Elite features built-in cable management, allowing you to store extra cord inside. It also includes cable management clips to route your cable wherever you want inside your car. In my Jeep, the cord is hardly noticeable. 4) Placement: The MagicMount has an extending pole that extends, tilts, and twists. Once you've found exactly how you want it to be, use the locking thumb-screws to hold everything in place. It's nearly infinitely customizable. This would hardly hold 3 of our iPhones with a little wiggle on the sofa. Do not have very hight hopes this will hold going down the rode. I have had others fail and was hoping this would be a big upgrade to keep my phone in place on my truck.

    • Great Cup Holder Mount With Convenient Wireless Charging

Cup holder mounts have become one of my favorite ways to mount a phone in a vehicle, and this one has a very well thought out design. The base has an adjustable ring that expands the grips inside your cup holder. You simply rotate it until everything is tight, and the mount stays firmly in place. This also makes it compatible with different sized cup holders instead of relying on a one size fits all base. The phone attaches magnetically, making it incredibly easy to put the phone on and remove it with one hand. The magnet holds my Pro Max securely, and I haven't had the phone fall off even while driving over bumps and rougher roads. The adjustable arm gives you some flexibility for positioning the phone at a comfortable viewing angle for GPS or hands free calls. However, the arm isn't particularly long, so how well this works will depend heavily on where your vehicle's cup holders are located. It works perfectly in my van, but the position isn't nearly as convenient in my sedan. I also really like the charging setup. The mount uses USB C and includes an adapter for a standard 12V cigarette lighter socket. Even better, the included adapter has two USB C ports, so powering the phone mount doesn't prevent you from charging another device at the same time. Wireless charging has worked well, and the magnetic attachment makes the entire process effortless. I can get into the vehicle, place my phone against the mount, and immediately have it secured and charging without connecting another cable. Overall, this is a sturdy and convenient phone mount with a lot of functionality packed into a simple design. The expandable cup holder base, magnetic attachment, wireless charging, and included dual USB C car adapter make it an excellent option. Glad to see schosche coming back into the phone market. I tried a iPhone 13 and a pixel 11 and both have great magnetic strength and hold well. You can move the mount head and adjust a telescopic arm as well. The arm extend about a foot out. It's easy to use and adjust the base and twist it to put out grip arms to hold itself into the cup holder. It can fit pretty large cup holders fully extended. My problem with this one is two parts. One, I think the telescopic arm needs to have one more joint in it. I tried in two cars and 3 separate cup holder locations. With the size of phones nowadays, one telescopic arm didn't allow the arm to get far enough away from the car body to sit properly. Two, there's too much wobble on the phone when the arm is extended at all. Maybe an extendable arm that could create another mounting point to the arm would create stability. Right now it's just hard to read things like maps with how much it shakes. Overall I don't think this is worth the cost for my use case. This would work well if you just want your phone to wirelessly charge and be in arms reach whole driving. ... show more

This is my favorite kind of phone mount intended for use in cars nowadays. The base has a ring you rotate so that its grippers extend to the size of the cupholder, keeping it firm, fitting perfectly no matter the size of your car's cup holder. And then there's a magnet on an articulating arm that holds your phone. This one is nice because it has a USB-C cable that plugs into an included adapter for your car's cigarette lighter. The adapter actually has two USB-C female ports on it, so you could charge something else at the same time if you wanted. The articulating arm isn't very long, so depending on your cup holder's position, it might not be super easy to use for GPS. It works great in my van but less so in my sedan, for example. The design is really functional either way. You can just slide your phone into place. It's not the strongest MagSafe magnet, but it holds just fine through car motion, with no slipping. I think this would be especially great for people who drive for rideshare companies. i totally recommend it ... show more

Come for the design, stay for the performance (charging and grip) This phone mount was one of the easiest accessories I have added to my truck. It dropped right into the cup holder, tightened down securely, and was ready to go in just a couple of minutes. The magnetic connection grabs my iPhone 17 Pro Max instantly and holds it firmly, even on rough roads. I also love that I did not have to stick anything to my dashboard or windshield, so everything still looks clean and uncluttered The charging speed is what really impressed me. This charges my iPhone 17 Pro Max faster than any other wireless charger I have owned. Even while running navigation, streaming music, and using wireless CarPlay, my battery percentage continues to climb instead of barely keeping up. That alone makes this mount worth it because I no longer arrive at my destination with a half dead phone My favorite feature has to be the telescoping neck. I switch it between my 2000 Silverado and another vehicle, and being able to extend and adjust the height makes it easy to get the perfect viewing angle every time. The rotating head gives even more flexibility, so I can position my phone exactly where I want it without blocking anything important. It feels sturdy once adjusted and never droops or moves around while driving The overall build quality is excellent and everything feels like it was designed to last. The magnets are incredibly strong, the charging is consistently fast, and the installation could not have been simpler. For the money, I think this is one of the best cup holder phone mounts available if you want fast charging and a clean setup without modifying your vehicle.
