If your going to buy this, do yourself a favor and have a box knife and a hack saw. The hack saw blade alone is all I used to cut the tabs off flush. I uses the knife to cut any extra plastic blocking the extender tabs. I would like to point out to those complaining about this product if you wanted something specific for your car then spend more money and get one. This product provides ALOT for a small price point. Yes, it not perfect but it can easily be solved in seconds with a box knife. Took me less than 30 minutes to put together, just follow the book. It didn't fit my radio exactly, the right side bumps out like a 16th of an inch. Everything connected to my new radio perfectly and to the factory harness. ... show more

This kit does not fit my 2007 GMC Canyon. The frame required significant modification to properly assemble, more than just the removal of tabs, it's poorly designed and poorly molded. After following the directions it still would not hold tohether and was too small to accommodate the replacement radio head. Also, the wiring harness does not have the pins in the correct positions, no power to the radio. I completely abandoned the pursuit with this kit and returned it. Obviously others were willing to reset the pins and modify the frame to fit, but that's not why I bought an install kit. I shouldn't have to fabricate something from a kit that says it fits my vehicle. ... show more

Thanks to a reviewer named Adam, who also has a Chevy Colorado, I was able to make the harness function correctly. He explained the need to hook the red wire from the car stereo to the orange wire that led to the cigarette lighter. 1 star before but 4 stars after.

The wiring harness plug fit perfectly but the rest of it was off! Does not fit a 2005 Silverado worth a crap! With about 3 hours of altering I made it work.

Harness worked and mount did too. The mount took modifications to fit but atleast it gives you an easy starting point.. don't expect to just take this out the package and have it fit. The Harness fit BUT you NEEEEEED to run a power wire from your head unit to a 12v source because this Harness DOES NOT have a powersupply wire in it. Scosche is a excellent brand! You can count on them to sell you a part that will definitly fit and will last bc they only make great quality products. My problem was the china made headunit that didn't fit the scosche bezel. So I only used the bolt on side panels in the kit. I didn't even need the wiring harness bc the stereo came with one but upon inspection of the wire gauges I ended up going with the scosche harness bc it had larger gauge wire (quality). So all in all everything worked out. Hey if you need install kits you can bet your a$$ Scosche can help with accurate, quality and dependable service for most likely ever!
