I bought this mount to use with my Cobb Access Port tuner in my car. This mount is very well made and works perfectly for my AP. Definitely a huge upgrade from the stock mount that comes with the tuner. I'm now considering purchasing a second one to use for my phone.

I got this to accommodate a new iPhone with magsafe case. I already had a Scosche magnetic holder on my dash with the 3M adhesive and it worked well. Because the magsafe magnet sits higher than the plate I had put in my old phone case it hid a good portion of my new phone behind the steering wheel. I saw this product and thought it would work but it was out of stock forever. In the meantime I went to a magsafe vent mount but my center vents don't have an on/off just directional and I didn't like the hot air blowing on the phone. The good is that the ball on this fit fine with the old mount I had on my dash. It gives you a few extra inches to get it out of the way of a vent or higher or lower viewing angle. I was worried about wobble and vibration because it moves the weight of the phone out to the end of an arm but I've found that with the arm at the 12 oclock and 6 oclock position it is pretty solid. At 3 oclock and 9 oclock it tends to wobble and vibrate and bounce around a little more. The magnet itself feels very secure. The bad? At $40 the price is ridiculous for what you get but it fit a specific need so I ponied up. The end that attaches to the dash has a ball end that snaps into a mount and then a large nut that tightens down so if it gets loose you can just tighten it up. The magnet end that the phone mounts to is sufficiently stiff but moveable but has no visible way to tighten it when it starts to loosen. It seems that it just works on friction and after a few years of vibration and adjustment and removing the phone I have my doubts that it won't start sagging every time you put the phone on it. But I just got this product so we will have to wait and see. Good product, great product if it fits a specific need for you, but extremely overpriced and questionable durability. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. (UPDATE AT THE BOTTOM!) It works great if you have a metallic plate on the case, but unfortunately with MAGSAFE DOES NOT!!! I bought it because i wanted a magnetic phone mount that worked with my magsafe cases for iPhone but this one definitely does not do the job, not even with the iPhone without a case at all!!!. I mean yeah with a metal plate attached to the case it works great but that was not what i was looking for. I tried with the iPhone alone, with the apple silicon magsafe case and a DBRAND magsafe case and none of the above worked. The phone keep sliding out or falling off real quick. Unless you live in an area where there is no bumps at all or you look for a desktop mount, i would not recommend this one if you looking for a magsafe mount. Was a big disappointment because SCOSCHE usually makes pretty good things… i have most of my mounts from them, so it is a disappointment that they have this a magsafe compatible but doesn’t really works as advertised… good try though. UPDATE 1 week after purchase: So i used the Mount on this Christmas, on a trip from texas to indiana… some areas were a bit bumpy and my phone hold in place ok… still, i did not feel confident enough to leave it there on really rough areas or if you do some off-road driving. Also, using the “extension” or extending the holder makes the phone shakes a bit (the usual for this type of mounts) so i would suggest if that is something that bothers you (like it does to me), to mount it in such location that you don’t need to extend the mount’s arm/magnetic holder. And the way to go with it if your vehicle’s dashboard is texturized is to set it in the windshield, the mounting disk pad is not of good quality for texturized surfaces, plus it does not have 3M tape but instead it has that sticky silicone that is supposed to make it reusable but it does not really holds well. I tried using it and then mounting my iphone 12pro and it immediately made the phone holder fall with all and the disk pad… so, that's useless… have to set it on the windshield because no way to put it in the dashboard with the included mouthing disk pad So, bottom line: it does work on the road but use it with caution because it DOES NOT have a really strong magnetic hold either with a magsafe case or without it. And does not sticks to texturized surfaces even if you try to use the included disk pad ... show more

I had a cup mount with just the magnetic head and I needed to upgrade to the Magsafe head for my iPhone. I called Scosche and they indicated that the two heads were not compatible. So, I ordered another whole cup mount only to find that the Magsafe head fit perfectly on my old cup mount. Why was I misled? I also needed a stick on Magsafe head. When I looked under the adhesive pad, I found that the mounting hole was there. Bottom line, if you need a new head for any of your MagicMount phone holders, just buy this stick on Magsafe head, for half the price of a new mount and peel back the adhesive tape to expose the mounting rectangle hole. The Magsafe head will also hold any device with the metal plate attached and it holds stronger than the original head. ... show more

I'm using this with an iPhone 13 pro max and an Incipio duo magsafe case. It holds the phone well. The adhesive works great. I clamped it in place for 48 hours before I used it. The non-magsafe magnets interfere with the placement. I was able to disassemble the magic mount. Beneath the adhesive are 4 small Phillips head screws. Looking at the picture as a reference you should be able to remove the screws while leaving the adhesive in place. You can then access the magnets. You can see in the other photo the separate parts. I just removed the inner magnets that are not needed for magsafe and reassembled the mount. Now there is no interference and the case attaches perfectly. ... show more
