  • If you can't assemble it properly, just ask a bike shop pro to do it for you.
Style: Mesa 2 Size: Medium Frame Color: Black
Bicycle arrived with bent derailleur. I'd blame that on UPS being careless along the way than on component quality. The bent derailleur (A cheap Shimano that you can find right on Amazon for $25 or so) prompted me to buy a good quality Microshift Advent derailleur I saw on more expensive bikes. It turned out to be incompatible with the rear freewheel, so I ended up going on a bit of a shopping spree for compatible *quality* components to replace the entire chain system, AND rear wheel. And guess what. Well worth the money. I did have to get some help from a bike shop in my town to adjust the chains and replace the front crankarms, but now the ride is butter smooth. So, if you have a hard time with assembly, just swallow your pride, and ask for professional assembly help. It does take well-developed skills and sense to be able to assemble a bicycle properly. ... show more

  • Exceeded most expectations
Style: Mesa 2 Size: Extra Large Frame Color: Black
I bought it for $215, Used, Like New. It was 100% new in the box, but it was slightly damaged. (The wheel was packed over the crank so it needed a spoke fixed and the wheel trued, and both tubes were bad). After sending proof of repairs, the seller refunded half of the amount of the bill. Also, you will have to tune the gearing, or take it to a professional. I didn't know that, but with some careful reading and a couple of hours work I managed. All in all, I got a great bike for under half the price if I had bought it retail. I'm happy with the purchase. ... show more

  • Great bike but be ready.
Style: Mesa 2 Size: Large Frame Color: Black
This bike is great but it does take some adjustment on the front cog as the limiter screws are not quite adjusted well at the factory or something. I had to undo the shifter and reset it in the middle of the cog and the middle of the back cog and adjust the limiter screws on both sides. It did take some patience and some figuring out but after that it's a great bike. The customer service is amazing they really actually hired people that know what they're doing. ... show more

  • Brakes suck
Style: Mesa 2 Size: Medium Frame Color: Black
Other than the awful brakes, it’s a dece bike. It’s a little on the heavy side and the seat post is too tall. I put it all the way down and it’s still too tall even after bottoming out. I recommend trimming about six inches off with a hacksaw, and replacing the brakes with ones that’ll actually stop

  • Excellent customer service
Style: Mesa 1 Size: Large Frame Color: Blue
My front tire was stolen out of my truck. I called with the intention of buying a new front tire, rim, inner tube, quick release axle, but was told it was under warranty and all items were replaced free of charge. During this ordering process my customer service rep was incredibly responsive, proactive, and competent. No hassle at all. Know that if you buy this bike and have an issue it will be addressed seriously by people not attempting to extract more money from you. Buy worry free with Schwinn. ... show more

  • “Used like new” 🙄
Style: Mesa 3 Size: Large Frame Color: Red
The item description was the worst! Product shoved in a shipping box. Parts were loose on bottom of shipping box. Assembly required with not one written enclosure enclosed. Bike was filthy with oil. One tire completely flat.

  • Not a Good First Impression
Style: Mesa 3 Size: Large Frame Color: Red
NOTE: This review was written by my friend. I bought them the bike. "You get what you pay for!" That's the common mode of thinking, right? Spend $1,000 on a bike, expect $1,000 quality: reliable, maybe a premium component here and there, standard issue components and building techniques that won't let your bike crumble to dust. Spend $400, and your bike is either an entry level bike with care taken to the specs before they're mass produced, or a department store accident waiting to happen. This bike is the latter. I get it in the box, nothing seems wrong. I assemble it, and everything seems okay. I ride it once... And the deraileurs fail immediately; the chain refuses to go up to the higher gears. That's a sign that this particular bike wasn't assembled with the consumer in mind, but I ignored it, manually adjusting the deraileurs and going on about my business. The entire time, I rode it here and there, and I had been riding with a disaster waiting to happen: the front suspension fork was loose. The rubber bushings didn't even attempt to hold it in place; in fact, the rubber itself looked like it was worn out by someone ripping sick, techy terrain for weeks and months before I even got ahold of the thing. The stem itself was loose and wobbly, as in I can hold the handlebar and wiggle it back and forth, with the rest of the bike not following for a good half centimeter in every direction. I searched it up online, thinking that I need to just adjust something, but every response was the same: replace the fork or take it in. This may have been $400, which is not much for a bike, but I'd expect something that I can ride without worrying about faulty parts out of the box. A bent wheel is one thing, that's mainly a packaging issue. A jacked up suspension fork? That's absolutely a manufacturing problem, and I'd advise anyone to stay away from this bike. Heck, I'm staying away from Schwinn, unless I can inspect it in person. Summary: Inexplicable manufacturing defect - do not get this bike. ... show more
