I'd previously had a smaller Schumacher charger/jump-starter combo, but it died after over 10 years of service. This is a larger version which does more things than my previous one. It took me a little while to figure out how it works, but that's probably true of most things due to my age. But once I figured out what I was doing wrong ( and, yes, I read the instructions), I've charged batteries for my car and 2 riding lawn tractors. Great little device that's affordable.
