This tablet is an upgrade to a 6 year old tablet that finally malfunctioned. The pros are the installed OS, responsiveness, battery life, ease of porting Google network and bookmark settings from the previous tablet, display resolution. What I found different is that it has a metal back so it can be slippery to hold and your right hand can cover the speaker opening when holding it in landscape mode. My previous tablet would automatically dim the display in darkness and the buttons on the face of the device were within the display so they were always on the bottom in either portrait or landscape orientation. This tablet is not like that, but it's really not a problem either, only different. It does come with Samsung specific offerings and features that one can use if desired. It's quick - there's no disappointment with performance. Overall, I enjoy this tablet, it's a good value for the price, and would recommend it. ... show more

This thing is pretty sweet, and im very glad that i bought it. Having it has saved my poor smartphone's life lol. Like others have said, the whole speaker issue is slightly irritating, but doesnt bother me nearly as bad as it apparently does others. It was a great price for a brand new (2016, i think?), older model tablet. Runs pretty quickly and smoothly using my wifi, and does a good job at everything i need it for. Im still going to have to buy a laptop for a few things that tablets are unable to do, but im super glad that i bought it, and would do so again in a heartbeat! I do wish the screen were a little bigger, but i read alot of negative stuff about battery issues w the model featuring the 10 inch screen, so i feel like i did right, getting the model that i did. Ive had mine for a little over a month, if i had to estimate, and haven't had the first issue with it. Its steady and dependable, runs apps and browser quickly, the screen/picture looks good, and it has always gotten the job done. The keyboard kinda irks me, but i would imagine that is probably the case w pretty much ANY tablet. Definitely has been on all the ones *I* have personally tried out. Its not a bad keyboard, but i can type pretty friggin' quickly on an actual keyboard....and id say my speed is reduced by almost half, using a tablets keyboard. If you need a decent, tablet for basic browsing, app running, email, and messing around online, you definitely cant go wrong w this Galaxy! ... show more

    • Easy to use, Plenty of memory, Nice camera images!
This is my first tablet, at age 57. I wanted something easy to use and not too expensive. This fits my needs perfectly. It has 32G of memory, so I have plenty of room for pictures and apps. It also has 2G of ram, so I can shop online without any lag in load time. The screen is crisp and clear, the colors are bright. Both cameras do a great job! The battery life so far has been great. I get more than 24 hours, even with lots of use. I've never tried for more, as I charge it every night. It was easy to learn and personalize to my liking. I recommend this tablet to anyone who needs a great, basic workhorse. ... show more

These tablets run Android Version 8.1.0 (Oreo), which is just one down from the current V9.0 (Pie). The screen is a good size for use in the car, and the display is very bright when needed. The processor is quite fast, so Android responds very well. Works great with the "PlayerPro" music player and Google Maps at the same time. I was going to replace my car sound system with the full display version to incorporate maps, but this tablet eliminated that expense, and the display is larger anyway. I have owned Samsung TV's, Laser Printers, and computer monitors, for many years, and have had excellent experiences with all of them. They are built to last. I just purchased this tablet to replace a Galaxy Tab E which I bought last year. I decided to replace the E because it was sooooo sloooow that I could stand to use it. This Tab A is MUCH faster, and has the bright and crisp display Samsung is known for. It was extremely easy to set up, and actually with a press of a button, downloaded all the settings and apps from my Tab E. The only issue I have with this tablet so far is that while the Home key is a physical button, the Back and Menu buttons aren't and they aren't easy to see if not in bright light. That's a minor issue, though. We'll see how it holds up over time. Although its only been two days since delivery, I'm really posting this review now to give kudos to the seller, Budrug Sales LLC - for some reason, when I received this tablet, it was apparently an Australian version as it came with information on an Australian program for returning and recycling old cell phones. Not a big deal in that, but what WAS a big deal was the fact that it came with a power adapter that wasn't designed for US electrical outlets. I contacted the seller, got an immediate response, and they've already shipped the correct adapter to me. So far, so good! ... show more

    • DON'T BUY. SNEAKY DISHONEST ADVERTISING.
Ordered 32GB tablet, 16GB received. Due to placement of stickers it was not apparent that wrong box/item received as all else correct just wrong version. Didn't realize issue until after tablet synced for transfer/transferring and go to add SD card and check storage.....called Amazon and contacted seller. Between the two (Amazon/Seller) they offered two options of resolution -either return/refund in full or credit to bring cost to appropriate level for the 16GB. Because this was Christmas gift for young kid and time issues, opted for credit. Unfortunate error on Amazon/seller part, but was happy with relatively hassle free resolution that was fair. In end paid same as we would have for the 16GB tablet so feel resolution was fair to all parties. Seller and Amazon both very apologetic and no hassle. Problems happen, customer service when they do is key, for that 5 stars. And the tablet is great......opted to put in a larger 64GB SD card to compensate. All is well. ... show more
