I made the purchase at the beginning of August 2023 before a trip from NYC to Japan, and traveled for three weeks. The brand did not disappoint - rugged, durable, spacious, and good quality. There were smaller compartments to hold pieces of paper or lose items, and the four tires made moving seamless and smooth. I went to Newfoundland and Montreal in October of 2023. However in February of 2024 when I took out the luggage and pulled up the handle so I could roll the luggage, one side of the bar that was connected to the handle disconnected. After contacting SwissGear, I asked to fill out an RMA claim. I am not sure if there will be a replacement or repair but I remain hopeful because the luggage had been reliable before this February. ... show more

    • Great quality, great price!
Size: Checked-Large Color: Black
This luggage worked perfectly. Smooth to pull, not too heavy not too thin either. Plenty of room inside. With SW charging for luggage now, I needed a suitcase that I could max out with out going over the weight limit. I traveled for 1 week and this one suitcase was plenty large enough. Easy to use as well and the handles worked great. Feels very sturdy. ... show more

    • Great flight vacation luggage
Size: Checked-Large Color: Dark Grey
Bought this set first , needed to max our space and this set is the current max size for a carry on and a check bag. The set worked so well we bought another! Easy roll and stear , handle on side and top. I recommend the luggage connector strap to hold your personal item to the top of your carry on, it is very nice for after you check the big bag, you can strap your personal item to the carry on for easy maneuvering thru the airport ... show more

    • Huge capacity, but damaged early in its life
Size: Checked-Large Color: Dark Grey
I bought this bag after a good experience with its carry-on cousin. The outer lower pocket was ripped nearly off on the second flight I took with this bag. Baggage handlers being what they are, I can't completely blame the suitcase for that. However, the outer pockets do stick out quite a bit from the rest of the bag, so it seems more susceptible to damage than other bags. Also, this bag is SO big that it's super easy to pack so much that its overweight - we had 55 lb in it when we checked in to our last flight and it wasn't even expanded. My replacement bag will likely be a bit smaller because of that. I do like the handle on this, and the wheels roll super smoothly. ... show more

    • VERY Disappointed!
Size: Checked-Large Color: Dark Grey
EDIT: So we've owned two of these suitcases for ~2 years and made a very modest number of vacation trips (maybe 5 or 6). At this point, both SwissGear suitcases are falling apart. The wheels are degrading and they do not roll smoothly. The cheap handles are bent/distorted such that we have to "fight with them" every time we attempt to extend or retract. On our most recent trip, the cheap wire "frame" that forms the perimeter of one bag was so badly bent, I couldn't even operate the main zipper. It took me 15 minutes to "re-shape" the wire frame such that the zipper would move past the damaged areas. (Once I finally got the main flap open, the wire was easier to grasp and "bend back into shape.") This kind of poor quality, at this price, is unacceptable. I have given up on SwissGear, reduced my rating to ONE star, and we are shopping for new suitcases. I am disappointed in the durability of this suitcase. I own a SwissGear backpack which has been used "heavily," every day, for at least 10 years and it has been wonderful. So when it came time for my wife and I to purchase new suitcases, we didn't hesitate to purchase TWO of these 29-inch bags. Unfortunately, one bag was torn on the very first trip; and on the second trip, a main compartment zipper-pull was completely torn off (missing). Admittedly, these damages may have been caused by overly aggressive airport baggage handlers, but I think an equal portion of the blame goes back to SwissGear for poor manufacturing quality. I am also disappointed by the maneuverability of the suitcase wheels. These are not heavy-duty roller blade wheels; they are a lesser grade (cheap) plastic and they do not allow the bag to "cruise smoothly" on flat, even, surfaces. I will say that the bag has some nice storage features and holds a lot of travel clothing, etc., but as both bags have suffered damage after minimal use, we are disappointed in the overall quality and I cannot recommend this product to potential buyers. ... show more
