  • Best picture quality, worst ui
Size: 65-Inch Style: TV Only
I have gone through a lot of tv’s the last few years. I have had 75”, 85”, as well as projectors. All well researched. I spent probably 8 months deciding on what to ultimately get and decided for quality over quantity. Not one second while watching this tv have I ever thought the picture was anything but stunning. This all comes with one MAJOR caveat: the UI. I would absolutely buy a QDOLED again, in fact it is probably all I will purchase until something, somehow, beats it one day. But I will never buy another Samsung. The user interface is absolute garbage. Horribly difficult to navigate and ugly. The tv is quick to load things, but it’s almost not worth it. There are ads on the home page where your first app could sit, so you have to navigate off the ads. When you are watching YouTube and a video is sponsored, it pops up a “shop” button that doesn’t appear on my chrome cast or android tvs. If you buy this tv, factor in the price of a nvidia shield or chrome cast ultra and plug it in and go to town. Another few minor things: the upscaling makes anything below 4K look fuzzy, it’s strange. The remote is cool, but needs to be backlit and it has NO INPUT BUTTON. Ridiculous for something at such a premium price. But for all these minor issues, the tv is still better than anything else at this price point for miles. ... show more

  • Update 12/23/22 Stunning picture quality. Used with my Apple TV box.
Size: 55-Inch Style: TV Only
I've had mine for more than a week now. Out of the box, I notice that the picture setting was VERY "constras-ty". The black colors were very black, obscuring some of the detail in black clothing and hair, and making nighttime scenes a bit shadowy in some spots. I had to go in and make a few display adjustments so that the picture appears more life-like and not so eye-popping (decrease contrast), thus now I can see the hair strands of people with dark hair. Landscape and animated views are brilliant. Even with a lot of contrast, there is not much "ghosting washout" on lighter skin tones on videos as I experienced trying to brighten views on my old Panasonic. The remote control symbolism takes some getting used to. It did not come with a paper instruction manual, but found in the menu electronically. I do not connect it to the internet because I use the Apple TV box for all of my streaming content, but it's a good idea to connect TV to internet to download the latest version of the software; connecting wirelessly was simple. I did watch a simple Youtube video to set up on the stand, which was simple. The two extra USB ports are hidden underneath the module on the back (the first two are on the side); I found them after momentary panic because i need all four. Definitely worth the money and I'm pleased with my purchase. Update: Another important caveat is the black color spaces seem to be created by completely turning off the LEDs that make color (R, G, B). So between scenes where there may be no color to "pull", the TV seems to go off completely during the second or two transition; it takes some getting used to if you are watching in a dark room at night. ... show more

  • Best TV I Have Ever Seen
Size: 65-Inch Style: TV Only
This TV is simply amazing. This is the first high quality TV I have bought in my life and I'm not disappointed. I was worried this would end up being too big for the bedroom I put it in, but it's the perfect size. I also heard some buyers were receiving screens that were slightly bent/curved, but my set is 100% fine. I paired the TV with a good quality wall mount and audio system that includes a soundbar, subwoofer, and 2 rear speakers (I went with a universal style sound bar mount attached to brackets at the back of the TV that connects to the wall mount), this setup has brought a whole new high quality look and theatre-style feel to the bedroom (the first photo is a before shot with an old 46" TV). I also added an RGB LED backlighting solution that reacts to on-screen color change through a camera and outputs it to the color strip, providing great ambient lighting for certain content. If you don't have a phobia about getting 100% accurate color reproduction that you might get in certain content with the LG (after an expensive professional calibration), get this TV. Everything is so vibrant and alive looking. Fire looks like fire, things that glow looks like they're actually glowing. All the content you have watched in the past you will want to re-watch just to see what it looks like on this TV. Buy now, worry about the price later. ... show more

  • Easy assembly
Size: 55-Inch Style: TV Only
This was an easy television to assemble. You do need 2 people because it is a bit heavy and awkward for only one to put together. If there is a downside I would say it's the remote control. For some reason I did not understand that it is charged by either the tiny solar panel on it or by a USB -C cord. Who leaves their remote hanging out to sunbathe? There are no numbers on the remote and everything pops up whenever you turn the TV on. To pick channels is awkward and takes some time getting used to it. I hope that I never lose the remote because I can't see another way to run the TV. The picture is bright and clear and I am throughly enjoying this new screen. I think that it was a reasonable price for what I received. Which is a slightly larger screen and a dynamic new picture. ... show more
