    • WORK-HORSE TOUGH
This power supply is one hell of a WORK HORSE unit. Trust every word here because I see these units in action daily. Our security guards use these for their radio transmitters. Are you paying attention here...here it comes -- My employer NEVER closes it doors, we work three shifts 24/7 except Christmas day...BUT Security must be in the building even on Christmas day walking their rounds. So what does this tell you, my employer opened their doors 14-AUG-2007 and these power Supplies were turned on three weeks prior to that date. They have NEVER been turned off since that date. We currently use four of these units in house. They impress me enough, I'm buying a couple to use in my personal home. These are a total work horse, tough as nail. UPDATE: Today is 03-JAN-2015 -- it's been 7.5 years since the day they were turned on, they are still working. These powers supplies are still turned on at my work place. They're still being used daily on all three shifts and they have NOT been turned off, replaced or a sent out to for repair yet. I never seen such a reliable unit in all my life. That has to tell you something folks. I'm not joking here, I'm not feeding you a line of BS, I'm 100% honest here, and Trust me...If one of these goes down or happens to be replaced at my business, I would it, I do the inventory on these units. These are NOS (New Old Stock)! The power supply was manufactured SIX years ago according to the date code/serial number on the supply. Samlex America has updated its power supply lineup within the last 5 years (2021–2026)

    • So far looks great. Nice 12 volt supply for hams!!!
This is a very nice power supply. Have only had it a little while. Using it at the moment to power a 2-meter mobile ham transceiver that I'm using as a base station at home. The supply just sits there and does its thing. No problem transmitting on high power (about 65 watts I think) but I rarely use high power. Hams I talk to say my signal is fine with no hum or noise. I've read a few reviews of this power supply and they seemed really positive. They even provide nice connectors you can solder onto your power cable, to get a perfect fit for the screw terminals on the supply. Nice to see a well-designed and manufactured item. LOVE these little power supplies. I use them for my ham radios. I have one that is 9 years old and just had to replace some bad capacitors in it, but it's still working great and I definitely recommend these. UPDATE 12/18/2018: On my oldest SEC-1223 (bought in 2007), I've noticed that the plastic housing of the power output terminals are cracking and need to be replaced, but I'm having trouble finding them. Unfortunately the holes in the case are square, so a typical round post isn't going to work. ... show more

I "broke" my Power Supply and had to buy a new one. The Samlex SEC-1223 is the best choice and I have no problem recommending it to anyone looking for the best power supply in this power category. I noticed that Yaesu sells the Samlex SEC-1223 with their part number on it. This tells me that Yaesu has done their home work and found the Samlex a reliable product. ... show more

    • Great Power Supply for CB/HAM Base Stations
I've been using this power supply to run my Kenwood TM-V71 2M/70cm radio and my Galaxy 959b CB radio for over a year now and it just keeps working. I have the two radios and power supply in a stack on my desk with only a few inches between each item and I've never had any issues.
