Love this stand alone salt chlorinator system. We had a pump salt chlorinator combo and the chlorinator stopped working, didn’t want to replace the whole system since the pump still worked. Found this salt chlorinator system and been using it for 2 seasons now and just love it. It’s very simple to set up and it hooked up to our above ground pool without the need for hose adapters or the such…total plug and play simplicity. The controls are very simple to use and the built in thermometer is nice to monitor water temperatures. Very well made and works like a dream. If you are look8mg for a stand alone salt system this is a very good option. The price is not bad either, for us it was better than buying a whole new pump and salt system. Good price good product love it.

Westaho is an amazing company. My chlorinator is wonderfull and has saved me so much money in chemicals. Put the correct amount of salt in your pool, let it disolve completely and turn it on. i have a 18 foot best way steel frame pool and i keep the chlorinator on 6% and it keeps the water clear. i have had no issues with algee at all. I think next time i might upgrade to the new wifi version. I did have an issue with the chlorinator about 3 months in to the season and Westaho customer service helped me get going again. They stand behind their product and have good quick comunication. The nice representative walked me through some trouble shooting and made sure i was happy. I would definatly recomend Westaho and i will purchase from them again.

Worked great all summer on my 24 foot pool! Easiest and cheapest way to have a pool is to go salt!!! I added salt in the beginning and then only added 1 bag of shock every 1-2 weeks and had crystal clear water all summer. No other chemicals were needed!!! This salt system was rated to barely be big enough for my pool but we had no problems and only had to add one extra bag of salt towards the end of summer which is normal because of rain diluting the salt and water loss due to backwashing.

The media could not be loaded. Not a single piece of paper came with it so no directions. But does seem to be mainly plug and play. But after a week it is not producing any chlorine. When installed it ran for 3 days no chlorine at all in pool. Had it tested it had 2900ppm of salt so it was a little low but added 3 bags salt 2 days ago and 1.5 gallons of chlorine. And today had it tested again. It's sitting at 3900ppm salt which is only 300 ppm over and it flashing red for too much salt. That is ridiculous if it's that sensitive. This pool is rated for 3000 - 5000ppm so it is not even in the middle yet. Also it says on the front of the system that 3699ppm is the "IDEAL" number so what does that mean? If 3900 is over do you know how hard it will be to keep it exactly at 3600. On top of that guess what it had zero chlorine in it again after 2 days of running it pretty much 24hrs a day for 2 days to try and boost it up to level. So not working at the moment will update if they fix the issue.

Like this a lot better than the intex model that I replaced. Now I have everything set on an intermatic timer with fireman switch to shut off heater 15 min priir. The settings are a great improvement with percentage for runtime. Will see the test of time but my 8400 gallon depending on run time I have set 20% or 40% works great. Manual states 3000 ppm salt but on the swg itself it states 3600 ppm. I opened with 3600 and with rain and backwashing later in the season fell to 2900 ppm added back up to 3100 ppm and works great throughout those ranges with no low salt or high salt warnings.

Seems to work well, but after only a half a season of use, the frame of it is rusting out. The coating on the metal is no good. Hopefully they offer a replacement frame.

So far it is working, but I had to ask for a manual to figure out what is needed. I included some pictures of key points I couldn't understand. The salt needs to be above 2800ppm to work. The overall use is self-explanatory, but what threw me off was the system kept turning off and the bottom percentage lights were flashing. Turns out the system is designed to cycle off and on on purpose unless you turn on boost where it runs 100% for 24 hours. The directions still don't tell you what percentage you should use for what size pool, so I have it set to 80% with my 22ft x 52" round above ground. I guess time will tell, its only been a few days. I used a full intext sand filter and salt gen setup for years, and those salt gens were easier to use but failed yearly. This will hopefully last longer, but requires more knowledge to figure out what is needed (chorline production levels). I included some pictures of the manual to help others out, but you can email the company and get a full PDF of it. THey were quick to respond. I removed one star for having to ask for a manual (didn't come with one) and because I still don't know how much it should be producing since they don't really gauge that in the manual. Also, to easily and quickly test salt levels, I recommend a water tester off Amazon like this one. I really like the chlorine generator but I have to run it at 80% for it to give me a CL of 2. When I got it, I ran it at 100% for three days and dropped it down to 20% but I had to drop 1/3 gallon algaecide because the algae had attacked my pool even though.I shocked it twice. It seems to have evened out now.and I really like the digital thermometer built in but some instructions for cleaning the plates would be nice and I would like to know where to get replacement plates so I will be ready if the plates stop working? So far it is keeping my 15000 gallon pool crystal clear.
