This bag is strong and well-made. It holds a ton of baggage and was much larger than I thought it would be. It is easy to put onto the top of the car but does require sometime and effort to get it secured once it is filled. Its good to know that you cannot secure it until it is filled, which makes sense since it is a bag and not a hard shelled carrier. It rained pretty hard on both my trip down and back and everything remained perfectly dry inside, thanks to the waterproof coating on the bag as well as the thoughtfully-designed and zippering system. I have a Subaru Outback with roof rails but I was still required to use the door latches because the bag was larger than the rails and because I wanted it secured in more places on the sides. Using them was very simple and did not cause any damage to the door seals. Again, it rained both ways on my trip and having the door latches on did not cause the car seals to leak at all. This is a great improvement from the old hard turtle tops which are a huge hassle to put on and store. I would definitely recommend this product

This is 18 days in the making... and this is coming after I have traversed the U.S. from East Coast to West Coast via a rather roundabout route. First off, let's just notice how small it folds up and the little bag it came in! Soooo small and easy to store! Anyway, I am a 36-year-old, 127-lb female who has never had a rooftop carrier of any sort and did this all by myself, so user-friendly! I put it on my 2018 Nissan Rogue, which does NOT have racks, so it was on the roof and attached to the seam inside the doors using the hooks provided. I packed it on top, following directions, except I didn't really clean the top... a couple of days before leaving to make sure it would fit everything I needed it to... Oh boy, it did! This thing is huge! I actually had to figure out more things to put in it. I drove over 4,000 miles at speeds ranging from 0 - 90mph, 80 - 85 mph for long stretches of time. It went through high heat (90 degrees) and near freezing temperatures (35 degrees was the lowest it got, it was frosted). It went through downpour rain, drizzle, extremely high winds (that were physically trying to push my loaded inside and outside SUV off the interstate), and shine... Upon taking it down and opening it in my West Coast garage, it is completely dry inside, everything made it the whole way, nothing is broken or cracked (I truly expected my laundry basket to at least be scratched a little... nope...), it's like these items didn't just travel at all... I am absolutely amazed. My new neighbor, who has a hardtop carrier, helped me get it down (just the two of us) from my roof, and immediately commented on how light it is compared to his. I cannot recommend this more highly! The zipper was flawless, it is 100% waterproof for sure, hardcore tested and true, and yeah, I can't imagine anything this can't travel through after this trip. The straps held the whole way and are STILL just fine. I could absolutely use this again, though, I don't plan on traversing the continent again. Get it!

This is my second of these type of carriers, and this was much cheaper than the first I bought. This seems easily as good if not better than the other. Used it once and it poured rain during the trip but no water got on any of our stuff. I like the velcro overhang thing that covers the zipper to help ensure no water leakage (the velcro is strong, too, no worries there, and even so, the flap is really more a fail-safe). I got the 15 cubic feet one, and it fit fine on my medium sized car and can easily hold four medium sized suitcases, likely with room to spare. Note, though, how large the roof of your car is; I just barely got this between my rails so that it sat the correct direction, and I could see some mid to smaller cars not being long enough in that regard and you'd then need to turn it sideways, but also that still may not large enough. My only small complaint is the straps were a pain to tighten, and can't really tighten that much from where they start, so you'll likely need to wrap them around the rails a few times of your car to secure, which is just another layer of work. These type of carriers are labor intensive, between getting it up on the car, loading it, zipping it up (which can be hard given the thickness of the PVC. My old one was also hard to zip, moreso than this, and quickly both zippers split on it), and tying it securely. It will take some time and effort, but that just is what it is for these and will be the same for any similar carrier. But, if you're thinking about buying one, you probably don't really have much of a choice anyways as you somehow need more room in your car. We'll see how long this lasts, as noted my old one quickly had the zippers fail, and these bags aren't built for super longevity, but for the price and convenience of being able to easily fold it up and pack it up, still worth consideration over much more expensive hard shell ones.

Took this on a cross-country road trip and it absolutely delivered—honestly exceeded expectations. Don’t let the size fool you—this thing holds a lot. We don’t have roof rails on our car, so we installed it using the alternate method in the instructions, and it stayed completely secure the entire trip. At one point we drove through heavy rain in one of the states we crossed, and everything inside stayed dry—definitely waterproof. It always felt safe and solid. Great quality for the price—highly recommend.

Great rooftop cargo carrier! I drove cross-country from South Carolina to Washington over 5 days, averaging around 10-hour driving days at speeds of about 70 mph. I went through rain, snow, heat, and cold, and the carrier held up extremely well. I was very impressed — there were no rips or tears the entire trip. For extra security, I added a ratchet strap over the front of the cargo carrier, which I definitely recommend. The included straps loosened slightly while driving, so at each stop I just checked and tightened them as needed. It was easy to set up and performed great the whole trip. I also noticed multiple other travelers using the same carrier during my drive, which says a lot. Overall, an excellent product — 5/5!

This bag held up really well for 1200 mile round trip (600-ish to and from) through some strong and icy winds through Wyoming. (Seriously those gusts were hitting 50mph on the day I decided to drive back home!) Had enough space for luggage for a fam of 6 and then some. And im happy to say all our belongings arrived in the same condition they were in when I loaded them, tha ka to the weatherproof material this thing is made out of. Speaking of which, there was no visible wear or tare(tare?) at the end of the trip, the straps stayed in place thanks to the velcro loops that come integrated and so they didnt get frayed or damaged with the high winds. Only time will tell how well this bag will hold up but I figure I can use it for a similar trip 2 or 3 more times and by that point ot will have paid for itself. Overall im very satisfied with the product and will likely purchase again when this one needs replacing.

This worked great on our Kia Seltos. We went on a trip to Northern Wisconsin and it rained and it kept the rain out. We could fit a lot of stuff in it that we couldn’t fit in the car. It folds up very nicely in its bag, but still heavy duty. I would recommend it for sure to anyone great for its price.

Very durable Carrier and zippers can withstand an 20 hour drive without unzipping. Easy installation but would perform better with a railing carrier underneath it. I installed it with only the cars roof rack and it was a bit more work also the straps kept coming loose during highway commute. I pulled over every 2-3 hours to retighten it. Capacity: It held 1 extra large suitcase, 2 smaller ones and a couple of lawn chairs. Great price, so worth it for moving!
