After our old egg incubator was left stored the sun and heat for too long and the plastic began to degrade, it was time for a new one. This incubator holds up to 12 chicken eggs and really has a nice range of features-- a LOT more than our old one had. First, the instructions included are really pretty thorough-- right down to how much water to put in for chicken eggs, when to add it, how and when to candle the eggs and what to look for, etc...... much better than the other one we had. We've done this a few times, but so infrequently, the refresher course was very welcome. Other features include a built in egg candler, an audible temperature alarm, moisture grooves (where you put the water for your humidity) and a really great turning feature..... not just a simple short back and forth, but a longer path for more rotation. We started our eggs about a week ago and everything has been all systems go-- as of now we KNOW they are all fertilized (we candled) and developing. Granted, no incubator will ever get 100% hatch rates simply because of the eggs, but to see this so relatively early in the process makes me feel that this incubator is well designed and doing its job. If all goes well, we'll have hatchlings on Leap Day! I definitely recommend this egg incubator.

I have used other incubators in the past and so far this one is my favorite. This will hold a good dozen eggs and still be small enough to keep in the house without seeming in the way. I especially like the candling light that is built in. Super compact, easy and fun for the kids to enjoy the process of hatching chicks.
