Upon preparing for return and rolling up the rug it look like someone swept up a warehouse. The rug deposited dirt and fibers on our wood floor under it. This is awful. I loved the unique, boho look of these rugs (I purchased 2 in black), but they ended up being woven together very unevenly and are extremely rough on your feet (I know jute rugs are typically scratchy and not really soft, but these are actually a little painful to walk on). There's also what seems to be pieces of mulch or wood woven in which are painful to step on also. Not only this, but they are extremely dirty and vaccuuming does nothing but unravel the rug further. I've resorted to trying to take it outside to shake off crumbs, but it's honestly the rug itself that sheds dirt, dust, and black dye. They've nearly ruined my hardwood floors so I will have to cover up with another carpet. Like I said, I loved the look of these rugs, but honestly they're not worth it AT ALL and strongly recommend to anyone against purchasing. ... show more

The rug looks good for the first couple of months, but that's about it. It's incredibly rough to touch (imagine walking on rope; that's the exact feel). And I think the worst part is how impossible it is to properly clean. Practically everything disappears into the crevices of this rug, and the dust/dirt cannot be vacuumed out. You'd have to regularly take it outside and beat it to somewhat clean it, which is impractical if you live in a condo or apartment. STAY AWAY IF YOU HAVE CATS. This rug is a MAGNET for tracked litter, and your socks will be FILTHY each time you step onto it. Overall, it's not worth the money. It suits my needs perfectly. It is not completely solid black, you will see bits of brown/tan through out (the natural color of Jute). It does smell a little when you first unwrap it (wet grass comes to mind) but for me personally that only lasted a days or so. The natural smell of your home will take over.     • The black rug is not nearly as dark as depicted.
The carpet is thick and heavy and great quality but I purchased the black carpet and it is nothing like the color depicted. It actually has a bluish hue. I tried to see how it looks in different lighting but it’s just not going to work. I just hope it won’t be too difficult to return at this point.

I love the color of this rug but then quickly began to have areas that stuck up and had to be trimmed. The fringe on the edges has started to loosen as well. It seems to be a chunky loosely woven rug. Not a tight weave as the picture indicates. Would not buy this rug again.
