Features
- [COLOR & DESIGN]: SAFAVIEH's Berber Shag rug showcases a plush, soft shag texture in mottled grey blue and cream tones; actual color may appear darker or lighter than shown, depending on lighting and screen settings.
- [PLUSH SHAG CONSTRUCTION]: Woven for a deep, plush shag texture with a 1 1/8" pile that feels soft and inviting underfoot; OEKO-TEX certified for added peace of mind.
- [VERSATILE STYLE]: The Berber Shag design makes a versatile fit for the bedroom, living room, office, and entryway, complementing shag / flokati, transitional, modern, and casual interiors alike.
- [EASY CARE]: Vacuum regularly on a low setting to keep the plush pile looking full, and shake out or gently brush the fibers as needed; some shedding and a mild new-rug odor are normal at first and improve with airing out and light vacuuming.
- [ARRIVAL & RUG PAD]: This rug may show temporary creases from packaging; lay flat for a few days or reverse-roll briefly to help them relax. A SAFAVIEH rug pad adds extra cushioning underfoot and helps hold the rug in place.
- [TRUSTED BRAND]: For over 100 years, SAFAVIEH has combined quality craftsmanship with timeless design, offering rugs and home furnishings for every style, space, and lifestyle.
- [BASED IN NEW YORK]: Based in New York, SAFAVIEH operates 13 retail locations across NYC, Long Island, Westchester, Stamford, and New Jersey, while bringing over a century of design and rug expertise to homes around the world.

đ Abunda's Overview
This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.
The Safavieh Berber Shag rug is well-received by most customers for its nice color combinations, soft and plush texture, and its resilience, able to lay flat after being rolled for a significant period. However, some buyers have noted the rug's thinness and a lack of long-term durability with signs of the rug flattening over time. Cleaning is straightforward, but special caution should be taken while vacuuming to prevent pulling the threads out.
Pros
- đ The rug's multicolor design blends well with various room aesthetics.
- đŠ Customers appreciate the quick shipping and condition upon arrival.
- đŸ Pets seem to enjoy laying on the rug due to its softness.
- âš Minimal shedding, even after vacuuming.
Cons
- đȘ Some consumers find that the rug does not maintain its plushness over time.
- đ Some users find the rug too thin for their preference.
- đ Certain types of vacuums with rollers can pull the threads out.
- âŹïž The rug's corners may tend to turn up, posing a possible tripping hazard.
Should I Buy It?
If you are looking for a rug that has a nice color blend and don't mind a thinner texture, the Safavieh Berber Shag rug could be a worthwhile purchase. If maintaining long-term plushness and thickness is a priority for you, you may want to consider other options.
