My husband was experiencing shoulder and neck pain from our pillow top mattress. As its only two years old, we weren’t ready to buy a new one. We started researching mattress pads and I came across this one. I read a lot of reviews saying it was like sleeping on a cloud. My immediate thought was that it may be comfortable, but that was probably a slight exaggeration. However, based on all the good reviews, we decided to give it a try and we purchased the enhanced support version. It came in a box all folded up and when I laid it out on the floor as you can see from the attached picture of its irregular shape, I had concerns on how it would expand. We left it laid out, went out of town for a day and a half, and came back to a perfectly shaped rectangle memory foam 2 inches thick. We put it on the bed, along with the 2 inch thick pillow topper that came with it and used it our first night back. It was exactly like …sleeping on a cloud. It’s incredibly soft and comfortable and your pressure points sink into it just the right amount. The next morning, my husband woke up with almost no pain in his shoulders for the first time in a long time. We’ve slept on it for about two weeks now and he keeps saying how much better he sleeps and feels in the morning. I would definitely buy this one all over again. ... show more

This isn’t a cheap topper but can you put a price on a goods night rest? I had a pretty good mattress (Nector) but after having hip surgery my year old mattress became uncomfortable. Wasn’t just gonna buy a new one so I invested in a topper. Best investment ever. Searched on Amazon for about 30 minutes and after reading the reviews I figured it was worth a try. It’s hard to explain the feeling but it’s firm yet soft lol. Almost like a quality hotel mattress (which I like). I didn’t measure it like other reviews but I would guess it’s 2 inches plus the cover making it 4 inches. My bed is now really really high. I have a California King so with tax it was almost $200 so it was an investment but since it came with both the topper and pillow top protector it was still a good deal compared to others. I only wish the protector was waterproof. I ended up buying a $30 one off Amazon. Protect your invest spend the extra on a waterproof cover. Make sure you get a deep pocket cover (24 inches) if your existing mattress was thick. Overall, I invested about $200 and have been having the best nights rest. Totally worth it. ... show more

This will be a long review but worth the read. So, I've had 3 cervical spine surgeries (4 level acdf) 2 of them following an auto accident. I've also had a shoulder & hip replacement. I have an extremely expensive memory foam IComfort bed and have gone through dozens of pillows which I thought would be the answer to all my sleeping issues. My daughter has a pretty incredible bed and the past few times I've stayed with her, I've had the best night sleep (the only good sleep) and she finally told me it was because she had purchased a mattress topper. She sent me photos (she had a 3 inch standard gel/foam topper). I set out on a mission. I had no idea how many options there were to choose from. So many claims / conflicting reviews -- I researched dozens and dozens and read dozens and dozens of reviews on each one -- Then, I came to this specific topper!! I narrowed it down to 3 different toppers and ultimately -- I purchased the Innovations Dual Layer Gel Topper I chose The Innovations topper because 1) it had more positive reviews than any other on the market 2) It came with a cover that would encompass the memory foam portion of the topper (and it's so deep that it even covers my deep queen sized IComfort Memory mattress) 3) it was a combination of the 2 types of toppers available 4) I was afraid the 2 inches would be two thin and the 4 would be too thick and felt this combination would be the perfect compromise (and it was). 5) It was extremely affordable in comparison to all of the others available. I removed the 2 piece(s) from the box and unrolled it right onto the bed.. It had no odor whatsoever and it laid out perfectly flat. I placed the 2nd topper right on top and pulled it down around the memory foam topper (which was slightly larger however it just formed around my own mattress) and then extended it down past my bed's mattress and made my bed. My first night and all subsequent night's sleep have been pretty incredible. It is slightly/noticeably higher and you do kind of fluff into the bed but not nearly as much as some of the reviews indicated. One review had me laughing so hard , it made me cry -- that I'd be literally fighting and at war with my mattress every night-- not true!!! I can say that I had the absolute worst bursitis pain imaginable following my hip replacement surgery. I really did not know that is what it was until about a year after my surgery, I went to my surgeon telling him how much pain I was in down the one side. After examining my hip and showing me xrays he indicated how perfect it looked and then did a few "touch tests which were immensely painful. I received the first of many shots right into the bursa and typically count the days till I can have the next one (about every 45 days -- until I got this topper (the last shot I received was in September) -- Before this topper, I could not sleep on that side -- EVER!! I had to lift my leg with my hands to help me turn over in bed, had to lift my leg with my hands to cross them like a lady!! Now, it's barely noticeable and I even told my husband the other day that not only has it helped my sleeping (back, neck, hip) but my pain level during the day is almost a "non issue" like it was prior to the topper --- It's pretty darn amazing! My husband has terrible hip issues and arthritis and he's the biggest Negative-Nellie there is about anything I try. He had always hated our bed but he's really loved the first days of having the topper. He has said he does feel much better since having the topper (but he needs hip surgery so his issues are different than mine). I for sure can say that the Innovations Topper solved the exact issues I needed it to solve without it being so significantly different than what I'd already had previously based on the reviews .. I hope that if I ever need another one, this exact one will still be available because I will never order any other kind. I plan to get one for every bed in my home as soon as I start to remodel and will buy them as gifts when I can. I've told everyone I can think of "my story" -- including all my Doctors, Nurses, PT's etc -- -- If there is a way for me to sell them for you, let me know! I'll be your No 1 sales person for sure!! ... show more

I Neva usually write reviews but as much as this top has been a game changer. I would be doing the company a disservice if I didn’t share my experience. I am a bodybuilder and I pinched a nerve in back while working out. Some of the worst pain I’ve ever felt in my life. Couldn’t get comfortable being on my feet for more than 15-20 minutes was really uncomfortable. Been doing chiropractor massage therapy and physical therapy for months. They were helping but the pain just wouldn’t leave totally. I went outta town for a week stayed in the hotel beds. Back felt great so I knew it probably was something with my mattress. Came home immediately ordered this top. Instantly it was like magic the pain subsided and I have been grateful ever since.
