I used this 13 gpm 2 stage pump as part of a build for a hydraulic press. It is driven by a 3500 rpm 5 hp electric motor. It is pretty loud, but not unexpected. I use it with an intermittent duty cycle (i.e. not all day) and am happy with its performance: no overheating, no leaking, it just moves hydraulic fluid as asked. The aluminum and steel castings looked well-machined with no sharp burrs or scratches on receipt. I had to fabricate a 90 degree bracket to get it to talk with the drive motor. There isn't a lot of room between the mounting flange and the body of the pump, which made bolting it down to the mounting bracket slightly inconvenient, but I didn't think this was worth knocking a star off. The threads blew out from the high-pressure side on the firat cord of wood. I have now purchased 2 of these both had the same failure mechanism. Will be looking for a functional replacement. Do not buy this pump it WILL fail. Ignore my advise if you will but at least get the extended warranty . You can thank me later ... show more
