    • Easy to use, hard to measure
It does exactly what it's supposed to. Thick gel coats pellets and burns easily to start the stove. The one "con" is it's hard to control how much you squeeze out. And you don't need much. Used sparingly this should last me most of the winter but the bottle opening is about an inch in diameter and it's easy to squeeze out a lot more than I need. It needs a pop-up top like a dish soap bottle. EDIT: I found a flip-top from an empty bottle of bathroom detergent that works perfectly and makes it much easier to control. NOTE: I do not have small children in my house so, use caution to secure the bottle if you do and you replace the childproof cap. ... show more

We've been using this brand for awhile now ever since the lighting mechanism broke on our pellet stove. And with this item ill never change back. Fill pellets toss some gel over top mix around light and instant fire. No more waiting for the lighting element to ignite the pellets. Makes relegating stove super fast during those cold mornings.     • Good way to get a fire started for grills
I bought this for my charcoal grill. I pour the gel on the coals and it catches on fire pretty quick. The bottle is a nice size as well so it'll last for a decent time.

    • Good, but I prefer the solid squares
When I first installed my wood stove I used this and liked it for a while. But sometimes t runs away from where I want it to be when I lay a fire and doesn't burn long enuf to ignite my wood. So I now prefer the solid squares which I think are also less expensive.

I love how when it says one match it will literally light my pellet stove with one match all I have to do is mix a little in with my pellets and my pellet stove lights amazing.. my pellet stove has not lit on its own for a while now and using this item turns a half an hour job into maybe 7 minutes

A quarter sized dollop on the slice of a wax log I use as a fire starter and the the fire is guaranteed. I've been using this brand for a few years now and it's the best I've found so far, at the best price.

this stuff worked well , long enough to light the bbq . and a bit more . lastes a while as the bbq charcoal fuel bummed out . but this stuff lasted till all were white and hot. i was cooking in min. compared to 20 or more min. with fluid. or chimey. good stuff maynard .
