There was nothing wrong with the first remote. I didn’t replace this remote because it broke or failed in anyway it literally returned to the void. I don’t know where I put it. I haven’t seen it since I’ve lost it. It was the weirdest thing so I decided to get another one because I just could not find the first one, but it’s a really great remote synced to my TV perfectly. The media could not be loaded. Well okay I bought this universal remote from Hisense for my Hisense TV which my Hisense TV is a older model it's not a smart TV one of my first HD TVs I got back in 2012 and it's been working great ever since these are some Workhorse TVs I call them but the remote control has had its day because it's the original remote control that came with it power button stopped working and it was hard to change the channels so the next best thing to do is to find something to take its place and Amazon has something that look promising a universal remote from Hisense that works on all the TVs okay what I got to lose I'm going to go ahead and get it this remote works great it controls what I need for it to control with the older TV not only that I can also use it on the smart TV I have a Roku TV 55 inch Hisense TV and it said that this remote control works on all the Hisense so I will use it for both when I need to but I only need it for the older model one it comes in a tool pack that's the one I bought so just in case one breaks down which I hope it doesn't I can always go to the other one that I have so far it works great on both TVs I have tried it I got a bang for my buck about $12 and something so I'm not sad at all or disappointed so this would do me fine but when it comes down to the TVs this is my brand I love these TVs they last a long time they look good and I haven't went wrong since I bought my first one so that's what keeps me coming back far as the remote control goes it lasted a long time but it finally went out had to get something different or something better they had what I was looking for not only that don't best thing about this remote you don't have to put in no code to get it to work it works fine so if you have a license TV or like that I recommend this product give it a try test it for yourself I guarantee you will be happy with it some things might not work it depends what type of model TV you have but a lot of things will work this is a replacement remote control it's not the original one that came with it you would have to order the original one that came with it to get everything to work properly the way you want it but far as getting channels and volumes turned up or down and changing inputs to watch different things you can't go wrong so give it a try you may like it just as much as I like it oh and one other thing my first TV is a 42-in TV regular television not smart TV so this remote works great on non-smart TVs by Hisense so give it a try if you got old TV do you like to get back started and you needed a remote this will work fine have fun enjoy

This remote is doing a GREAT job with my Sony smart tv! I did not have high expectations as it’s not a Sony product, but it looked exactly like the one that came with the TV. It functions well & it worked straight out of the box, no programming. I highly recommend it. I give it 4 stars because the “apps” button doesn’t take me to the app screen. But all I have to do is hit the HOME button and I get my apps that way.

Stopped working correctly after less than 2 months. the pad that controls up/right/down/left either doesn't respond or responds twice now, and just skipping past the next selection when trying to use. I was initially happy with this purchase, as it seemed quite solid and almost like the OEM Samsung remote as far as quality. But if it only lasts 2 months and my original remote lasted well over a decade (and the original Samsung remote still works, the buttons had just worn off the markings from use for over a decade and couldn't make out most of the icons). I can't recommend this remote at this time. Don't waste your $20 on this one if you expect it to last. I'm not even seeing a way to respond to seller for any warranty. Will be buying another remote from another company, and check to make sure that they have a proper warranty and contact information as this is already the second replacement I've tried over the last 6 months. Might even go back to my OEM with the worn off icons on the buttons. Update: only power button works now, so two months is all this lasted even with the initial issue. Interesting enough, took it apart and found that the original samsung board fit into this remote, so used this remote as a shell replacement. I will say that the board of this remote is junk compared to the OEM samsung, but the shell is a great replacement for the OEM board for doing an update as the layout is perfectly the same as origional.
