Exceeds expectations. We have a small dog who is both too dumb and too smart for his own good. He relentlessly gets into trash/recycling and eats things that are bad for him, and this trash can has put a complete stop to this behavior. The best he can do is stand there and stare longingly at the can. Definitely get this if you have trash rabbit pets and want to keep your garbage out of their reach. We're going to get more of them (dogs and/or trash cans). Because of the narrow base, it may not be as effective for very large dogs, but it is still pretty sturdy. I'm pretty sure it will deter anything smaller than a German Shepherd. If you were able to secure it so it couldn't be tipped over, it would absolutely work for large dogs as well as smaller dogs. This can is extremely study and well-made. The plastic is high-quality and thick. IMO the price is worth it, because it feels like it will last a lifetime and endure the attempts of multiple canines bent on extracting the delicious meat-scented sweetmeats we humans so selfishly keep beyond their reach.

When I placed this order, it said that it included the container. So, now I am very disappointed and mad with this order. I'm not going to pay $75 dollars just for a Lid... This order is going back as soon as possible... Plus in the picture, they put the lid with the stickers and not even sent it. If they are not going to sell something like they show in the photo, So then, do not mislead people, don't give false information about a product If it is not as they describe it... I gave one star because I don't have another choice, but they do not Even deserve One star.

I wanted a trash and recycling container, and could not really find an "all in one" solution that had enough space. I purchased two of these that I will put side by side/they have a small footprint and are heavy duty and sturdy although not difficult to lift. The gray color is pretty neutral. I have a stainless steel kitchen and did want matching cans, so my solution will be covering them with a contact paper that resembles stainless to give a more updated look. Even without that, these are a much better value than the flimsy lower priced stainless ones I've seen out there, or the overpriced simple human options.

My husband has this pail at work in a warehouse kitchen where it gets lots of use. I'm sick of the little pails that force me to empty my kitchen garbage almost daily so I got this for my home kitchen. As I suspected it did not disappoint, love the size, taller but narrower than previous pails, love they grey color, lid keeps out stink and love being able to toss stuff in and lid just closes, no need for foot or unlock lid, or using hands to open lid

These take up comparatively little room, given how many gallons they can hold. So far, it seems any bag greater than or equal to 39 gallons is able to make contact with the bottom, but we're currently using the 42-gallon bags from the hardware store, & they just make things super easy. It's such a time- & space- saver, especially if you live in an apartment. It may be commercial-grade, but it works very well for residential. We bought two, one for trash & one for recycle. The lids also work great, and are very easy to clean.

I ordered this for my house. I like having a large trash can but my old one didn’t have a top and I had been trying to find the right one. This came and it has really been the right fit for me. Dog can’t even try and mess with it. Easy to clean out and has that handy little thing... idk what you’d call it but I can loop the bag so it won’t fall inside the trash can which was my biggest issue with my last trash can.

our dog was constantly getting into our trash even when we had a lid on it. This is considered a commercial trash can but we use it in our home for the kitchen trash and it's perfect. It's very sturdy and durable and made out of great material. Our dog can no longer reach the top of it and can't knock the trash can over so it serves its purpose for us. We are very happy with it. And have told others about it and they have also purchased it. We will probably be buying another one for our bathroom. Thank you guys. PS. Our dog is a chihuahua so I'm sure you can relate.

So sorry other buyers didn't read the descriptions better and only got a lid. I, however, read the description very well and knew you had to be careful what you picked, because many of the choices were only lids, but just because you didn't understand the description is no reason to give it a bad rating! The container and lid are perfect and VERY well made, just the right size for our kitchen, but like I said above, you can always count on Rubbermaid. I expect this trash can and cover will last many years.
