At first glance, it can be hard to understand why anyone would spend extra money on a utility tub. It seems like one of those products where plastic is plastic. Then you load one up and try to carry it. The biggest difference between this Rubbermaid tub and cheaper alternatives is rigidity. Lesser tubs tend to flex when carrying heavy loads, especially liquids. That flex can make them awkward to handle and increases the chances of sloshing, spilling, or generally making a mess. This one is much more robust. I use these regularly for kitchen projects, and they've proven incredibly useful. Whether I'm moving ingredients, transporting equipment, or cleaning up larger items, they handle the weight without feeling like they're about to fold in half. Some of my common uses include: * moving batches of ingredients during food prep * carrying meat grinder components and other equipment * washing items that don't fit comfortably in the sink * general kitchen organization and transport What I like: * rigid construction * handles heavy loads well * easy to carry when full * versatile around the kitchen * commercial-grade durability The ability to safely carry liquids is probably the biggest advantage. When a tub flexes excessively, even a small amount of movement can cause water or other liquids to slosh over the sides. The stiffer construction here makes the tub feel much more controlled when moving a full load. This is one of those products that doesn't seem exciting until you've used it for a while. Then you start realizing how often you reach for it and how much nicer it is than the flimsy versions. If you need a utility tub, do yourself a favor and buy a good one. The cost difference is small compared to the improvement in durability and usability. I've found these to be well worth the money and would happily buy more if I needed them.

I bought this item to use outside in my garden. I was very specific about the dimensions I needed. Listed dimensions are 20.4 x 16.6 x 5. I needed a minimum of 19 x 14 so this seemed great. Product arrived today and it was apparent that the dimensions stated in the ad included the outer rim. The basin of the product was smaller. Outside of the rim, true dimensions are 17 x 12 x 5. Although the product seems sturdy, it is too small for me to use but not worth the trouble to return. I will have to find something else. Disappointing. If you use it for its intended purpose it's fine.

I am a short, heavy, older gal. I wear a size 9 Wide shoe. The last several months have seen me add both heel pain and achilles tendon pain to my knee pain. I like the relief I get from soaking my feet in both hot and cold water. But, because of my height and size, the typical dish basins were always uncomfortable. The back of my calves would rub up against the wall of the basin because it was too tall, and there was NO room to move my feet around or turn them on their sides while soaking. So I started looking at other containers, but I didn’t want to spend a fortune. This one was cheap the day I bought it ($10!) and it fit the bill with all the reviews stating its measurements. For reference RE my feet size and the water, I have attached a couple pics. I set my towels down, filled it up to just over half way with water, added bath salts, added my feetsies, and… voila! it worked great. What relief. When it came time to empty, the bus box was a bit big and heavy for me to carry back with all that water, but I just used a gallon-sized plastic iced tea server that I use to bathe my dogs with, and emptied a bit of it out that way first. Once I got to the point I was able to carry it, it was sturdy and did not buckle or warp with the water in it while I carried it. I got two of them at the lower price, but even without the sale price it’s only about $14. I use the second one for washing tennis shoes, dog harness’, delicates, etc, by setting it down in the bath tub. Roomier than a basin and the splashing ends up in the bath tub, so it empties & cleans up easily that way. This is a VERY convenient sized tub! Strong and well worth the purchase.
