    • Bought these for fall not expecting much- pleasantly surprised.
I was terrified to buy footwear online. It just seems like a recipe for disaster! But I got these, because they were perfectly in my budget, and I figured if they were crap I wouldn’t be out too much money. Well, I was all wrong. These boots are GREAT. They have a thick exterior that has held up well so far in Oregon winter- cold and rainy. There is a real lug sole on the bottom that is very secure and I am not worried about slipping at all. Would I hike in these? No. But I would (and have) danced all night in them, walked across town, etc. I would recommend wearing thick socks so your feet don’t slip forward in the boot while walking, just makes it much more comfortable. The height of the boot is perfect for me, ending just below the knee, the back fits perfectly without folding when I bend my knee. I am 5’10 and so I was really looking for a tall boot. Now, onto the calf. If you have large calves, yes, it will be a SQUEEZE. It takes two hands to zip up these boots for me. Unfortunately what I thought was a dual zipper is actually only one- the zipper on the exterior of the boot is sewn over at the top, so you can’t unzip it. If you really want these boots but aren’t sure about the calf, I’m sure you could unpick the seam running over it to unzip, but, I haven’t tried. My calf is 17 inches around and does fit- however, as I mentioned it is a real squeeze to get them on. However! Once I have them on, I don’t find it uncomfortable at all. In fact, I kind of like that I don’t have to worry about them slipping around while I walk. For the price, you really can’t beat them. Also! If you cannot wear heels for whatever reason, don’t be afraid. The heel on these I estimate is between .5 inch and .25. It is a platform sole so there is not a big drop. I was worried because I can’t really wear heels since breaking my ankle but I found these very comfortable and SECURE. I am not worried about my ankle in these, both in regular walking and on wet floors. ... show more

These boots are great! I was worried about the fit around my calf because I’m hard to fit but there’s plenty of room. Very comfortable and I do recommend! I did size up because I wear thick socks, and they fit great.

Boots came today and they’re perfect for me. These fit my skinny “13” calves with an inch to inch and a half to spare, snug near the ankles, wider near the top, so that if I wear with pants tucked in, they’ll still be perfect. . I tried them on with heavy socks, which is how I’ll wear them, and they feel great. Came bent in half in smaller box, but no damage or crease in the boot leg. Boots used to be real leather and came in a long boot box, but I assume these are PU leather and bendable. Heavy, nice sole and seems like they will be warm in cold weather. I usually wear a 8.5 but I was afraid the sizing would be off so I size up a half size. They were a bit big a true 9 but after putting a gel insole in for comfort they fit perfect. I have very small calves and they aren’t snug but not oversized.
