These are beautiful in person and easy to put together, but the quality just isn't there. Easy to assemble! First put the base on the floor, place the ring on the base, and then push the cylinder throught the ring and click into base. Next, simply flip chair upside down (rest it on sofa) and line up the plate on the footrest section with thr underside of chair, screw in and tighten. Then, slide the seat/footrest into the gas cylinder and push down until it clicks. DONE! it's that easy The bad... we bought two chairs, both have quality issuess. One chair leans. It was assembled properly, even reassembled to matte sure this wasn't user error. It's not. There is something internally with the chair that causes it to lean to one side. The bigger issue: on the second chair, the black collar on the cylinder doesn't stay up. This causes the cylinder mechanism to rub metal on metal and scratch - deep scratches. The metal is very sharp where scratched and not safe. The sound of the metal scratching is horrific. We have tried moving the collar up and tapping it back into place but it falls back down as soon as someone sits on the chair. We have even tried glueing the collar up, but it always falls. So yes, the chairs are beautiful and match our kitchen perfectly, but I cannot recommend because of the quality issue. **note** we had similar chairs from a different company for 6 years with no issues. We only replaced them because we wanted blue ... show more
