This item was received as described in the description. I was pleasantly surprised after seeing the less than desirable photos of this item, and the "often returned item" warning. Happy to say it's exactly what I was looking for. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of construction. Weighs approximately 5 5/8oz, or appx 160gm, 1.30mm thick, and it is solid. The second picture is of the seam. The picture is decieving, but if you follow the ridge along the top, it is perfectly even; there is no bump, or "point" where the metal meets. The seam is perfectly smooth on every facet of the item, and is not discernable by feel. I had to look hard to find it under bright light, and it's only visible from the inside. It's not perfectly round, but it's close enough. Short of measuring, rolling it on edge, or using other measuring methods, there is no way anyone can tell just by looking at it. I can't speak for the other size rings, but the 5 x 1 3/4" I ring is a good purchase and I would recommend. ... show more

Very sturdy and would definitely buy again. I use this as a burger mold for fresh ground beef and it allows me to control thickness and firmness so the burgers do not shrink or swell.

I use these for making burgers by taking a 5 inch piece of round parchment paper, putting this Ring mold over it, then adding my meat and using my fingers to gently make a patty that is about 3/8 of an inch thick. Then I will use a 5 inch Patty press to Even up the top. This makes perfect burgers for cooking on my grill. This is very well-made, and very heavy duty. ... show more

I use it to mold burgers; works really good. Don't smash the meat into the mold; try to use a light touch. Make a bunch of them and freeze them; they go right on the grill, or in the pan, frozen.
