Placing on top of our vehicle, we use the roof rack to transport our kayak to the local lake for a day of recreation fun. The two carrier cross bars fit precisely. The cross bar replacements were sturdy and seemed to be very durable. Lightweight, as well as strong, the bars are easy to adjust as needed. The bars are designed to be assembled without tools. I pretty much had it assembled and ready to use (after reading the instructions) in about 30 minutes. It's been on the vehicle for a short time so far, but I think we are going to be using the cross bars for a long time.     • Check that you have slotted rails.
My 2017 Ford Escape Titanium has six screw locations on each rail to hold cross bars in the stowed and unstowed positions. This product requires that the rails have a slot into which the cross bar ends can be inserted. I looked at whether I could modify the cross bar holders, but decided to return these and order a different brand. ... show more
