    • As good as a Maasdam for half the price

Build quality looks near identical to the name brand (maybe even beefier in some areas of the housing), and at half the price, it's a no brainer. I used one of these side by side with a 3/4 ton Maasdam (I needed a second one, but it wouldn't arrive in time for the job so I picked up one of these as next day delivery). I put both through their paces pulling multiple trees down in an awkward location that wouldn't allow for traditional cutting/felling alone due to lean and proximity to the house. After 4 days of side by side use, I almost prefer this unit to the Maasdam. Some examples: the plastic handle of the Maasdam slipped off multiple times, never happened on the Vopepzg. The ratchet pawls on the Maasdam are ear splittingly loud when pulling excess slack rope through the mechanism, the Vop is much quieter. While I prefer the rope included with the Maasdam, it is more slippery by comparison and the rope will slip through the Maasdam if not under enough tension (I always add a quick stopper knot in the line just in case). The rope in the Vopepzg feels a fair bit softer and potentially more slippery, but it never did slip. Very happy with the purchase and would absolutely recommend it for anyone looking for a rope puller like this. ... show more

This makes taking those trees that have potential for property damage a little less imposing. Not sure how well it would work or if there is enough strength for large trees like midwest hardwoods, but works great for medium size spruce which is what i'm dealing with. Easy to use. A bit of a cluster with all that rope, but allows you to stay a safe distance away, and pull a number of trees from one anchor point. Rope has frayed just a bit, but have been putting it to good use. ... show more

Used to direct trees when cutting. heavy duty and comes with 100 feet of special rope. Great value. FYI most come alongs with 10 feet of cable, this is misleading as the cable is doubled back (it goes thru a pully) and you only can pull 5 feet at a time and this puller pulls almost the full 100 feet.. This puller is rated for 3/4 ton or 1500 pounds, this works for many jobs. ... show more

Easy to use, much better that the old coffing hoist that served ell for years and years.. not limited by the length of the hoist chain, full use of nearly the entire rope. Typical chincy fwd/rev bail, but for the price, happy with the purchase.
