This thing is a lifesaver!! Recently we had bad wildfires in our area and the air was terrible. With 2 little kids I decided to get out of town for some fresh air camping. The thing is I had to take the dogs too, and no way with 2 toddlers I could get all we needed for 5 days of camping, plus space for a German Shepherd and a terrier in the car. When the dogs come you don't have any verticle space to use for packing what with them needing space to move and all that. My old roof bag was a waste of space and I threw it out a while ago. Thank goodness for amazon prime and next day delivery! This bag is so well made, with strong materials and it was pretty easy to use. You have to make sure that you fit it correctly with the opening zips to the back so no moisture can go in from the wind, and we had a desert rainstorm on the trip with no leaks at all. Oh and I packed it all by myself without too much trouble. I was able to fit in the roof bag 2 large double sleeping mattresses, 1 double sleeping bag, 1 single sleeping bag, a double folding bench chair, 2 kids folding chairs, a large bag of clothes, double burner camping stove and 2 canisters, small folding table, misc blankets and sheets, washing basing, and an array of desert approved diggers, planes and dump trucks. (See pic) I only had to put the tent, shade, and coolers in the car, so the dogs were comfy and so were the kids. I saw that some reviewers had said that it leaked and the clips weren't good, but I think the manufacturer has replaced all of them with newer better ones as mine were really strong. I used the roof rack straps as my leased car doesn't have door seals that can be moved. That was no problem and the clips were all strong after a long drive on the freeway, and really really hot desert sun. I looked at a bunch of these before I left and it was by far the best and easiest to use rooftop cargo bag that I saw. Plus now I'm not using it it easily packs up into a small parcel to put in the garage until next time. Now we just need to set a date for our next camping trip with our Wild Xplorer bag! ... show more

Works great if you put the zipper facing the back of the car . Drove 1400 miles with it and that was the only problem (user error)

    • Amazing bag, well built, large, easy to install and keeps your luggage dry.
This car roof bag is amazing!! It looks great on the car and was quick and easy to install with the door hooks, no need to fix roof racks anymore! Typically, the day we traveled it rained all the way but all our belongings stayed safe and dry. The bag is much larger than I expected, we managed to pack far more into the bag which gave us more room in the car for the kids and dog! This bag is perfect for road trips if you have a lot of luggage or just need extra space in the car to save arguments!! I highly recommend this! ... show more

I wanted to write an accurate review so future shoppers have a clear understanding of the product. In our scenario we traveled through CA, OR, & WA. Upon unboxing the item one of the two zippers was broken however, we didn’t have the time to return and replace the item so we made it work with the one zipper. disappointing but still usable. As we progressed north we obviously experienced increased rain and snow and for the most part our items in the bag stayed dry but the luggage closest to the front of the vehicle was wet - lucky for us it was a hard case suitcase and undamaged. I understand the price in comparison to many roof bags is relatively inexpensive, we needed this product for a one way trip, and it worked OK for our needs. If you are in the market for a durable long lasting roof bag or live in a state with inclement weather I would not recommend this product. It seems like a more one use type product unfortunately. I will say the non slip mat, buckles and clips all worked great and the bag was extremely secure. We were able to fit two large hard shell suitcases, two carry on hard shell suitcases and various softer and small items in between with space to spare. ... show more

I was looking for a heavy duty, reliable bag for extra storage when driving from Phoenix to LA. This is waterproof, sturdy zippers, and can be stored away easily when I don’t need it. Easy setup and did no damage to the car’s paint from the attachments. Great quality and stayed secure during 5 hour journey at high speeds (70-90 mph). Stored more than expected making less that had to be Put inside the car. Good experience. Definitely recommend! ... show more

    • Easy to install and great quality material
I bought this rooftop bag because we need extra storage for road trips and camping. This bag is awesome and so much more affordable than roof racks and a hard shell carrier! The bag came exactly as shown and is much more compact than I expected (and it easily folds up and fits back into the storage bag!), which is great because it's very easy to store. I was very happy with the material quality and construction of the bag. The installation video was helpful and I was able to easily install it on top of my Hyundai SUV without any trouble or help from a second person. I found it much easier to load the suitcases into the bag before trying to do up any of the clips/straps. The mat that comes with it is also great to protect the roof of the car. I tested it out with 2 large suitcases and I could have easily got 4 in. I was impressed by how well the exterior straps on the bag tightened up to keep bag compact and the suitcases inside secured when there were only 2 suitcases in it. Would highly recommend to anyone that needs extra vehicle storage and doesn't want to spend hundreds on roof racks and a hard shell carrier! ... show more

This product is definitely NOT waterproof. I was so disappointed. It looks fantastic.....it's well built....it took a bit to get it installed....it's definitely not waterproof. I read thru the reviews and put the zipper opening in the back as suggested. They only thing that didn't get wet was the clothes in my suitcase. 2 duffle bags....a new comforter still in the plastic zip case were drenched. I still don't see how the water got in but it did. ... show more
