I frequently grill fruit and loved this product until it broke shortly after purchase. I feel like i wasted my money and have been unable to get a replacement as it is outside the 30 days. I never thought that policy applied to items that broke from use. Buyer beware.

These are sturdy and well packed, so they arrive unsmushed (as I have seen reviewers of other products complain about). I think this is a good set compared to some others I've seen advertised, though also not "perfect". I think these are a great aid in making grilling vegetables a bit easier. Here are some things to think about: 1. Yes, these are appropriately sturdy. You could smash them if you wanted to by stepping on them or something, but they're not going to easily get dented. 2. Large size. These things seem to come basically in two different sizes across makers, and these are the large ones, which is what I wanted. Folks who mistakenly got the 8" long ones seem disappointed. 3. Hinged top is a pro and a con. In reading other reviews, there are some of these cylindrical grill baskets that don't have secure tops and open on the grill. I think the hinge helps with this. OTOH, I think the hinge is the weakest spot of the construction, and is likely to be where this fails. 4. Note that there is the hinge and then two prongs on the top that let the unit sort of snap shut. You might want to adjust these with pliers so that you get a reasonably tight fit if they loosen. 5. I've seen a style of these cylinders that have more metal and fewer holes than the mesh. Those are sturdier, but I like that these increase the grill effect on the vegetables. 6. Note that if you overfill these, the vegetables inside won't much move around and the outers will be cooked more than the veggies that end up on the inside. So leave some room for the food to move around. 7. Of course, these will be hot when you remove them from the grill. I like the idea of getting one of those heat-resistant grilling gloves for this purpose, though of course, you could use other tools. I'm not sold on the little hook things that come with this as being large enough to be super helpful. Better than nothing, and that's about it.

We do kabobs on the grill quite a bit. what used to irritate me is the sticks. you have to buy a bag of wooden sticks or have some metal ones. if wooden they would catch on fire or smolder and sometimes have small bit in a peice of meat. or with metal or wood would end up falling off one way or another when you rotate them. With these everything stays in the cage. rotating isn't a problem and when done open them up and dump out the contents. rinse them off and put them in the dish washer for next time. Mine are discolored now as i sprayed them with cooking oil to season the metal. other then that they work great. we have the smaller kabob cages as well. these i like a lot as you can put chunks of meat with quartered up corn on the cob as well as large pepper chunks in it and season as you cook and rotate them. work really well.
