  • 10/10!!
Style: HD
I absolutely love Roku! We have all but one Roku TV, so we had bought this streaming stick, and so happy about it! It was very easy to set up and connect to the Wi-Fi and TV itself. Has lots of features, and works just like our Roku TVs now!! I also feel like this was the most value for our money!

  • Works great!
Style: HD
I connected this to an old Vizio TV and it was pretty easy to set up. I struggled more with the TV side of the setup than the Roku side. Selecting what apps to add, etc, was pretty easy too. It also paired with my TV for power and volume, which is great. I don't want to juggle two remotes. Overall, I'm pleased. It's sooooo much cheaper than buying a new TV! ... show more

  • Got it on sale!
Style: HD
I’ve owned two Roku streaming sticks now and they’ve both worked really well for my needs. Setup was simple and the interface is easy to navigate, even for people who aren’t super tech savvy. I like having access to streaming apps, live TV options, and free channels all in one place without needing a bulky device. The voice remote is convenient and responsive, and the stick itself stays hidden neatly behind the TV. Good value overall and I’d buy another Roku again. ... show more

  • Its such a great bargain for everything it does offer for free.
Style: HD
The Roku stick and remote are a wonderful invention. It paired up to my dad’s 42” HDTV very easily. Setup was fast and simple. For me, it’s user friendly, but it’s for my 90 year old father and he is still confused on how to navigate and understand how all the apps work. He doesn’t understand why he can’t watch YouTube for free, bc he always watched it for free before the cable tv was d/c’d where the cable service provided a bunch of free apps to watch with his cable tv subscription. He also isn’t grasping that he can watch Roku’s free local tv lineup through the Roku app for Free Local Tv Channels. Honestly, idk how many free apps come included with this item but I can attest there are ALOT and that’s a really great feature, albeit, in order to watch the YouTube app that’s conveniently already included, u have to subscribe to it at the cost of $84.99/per month and that’s just for the YouTube app. Lots of apps are already downloaded which is great, but if it’s not free and a subscription is required to watch it there is an icon of a red lock located on the upper left side of the app on the apps lineup page. Personally, I love it. Myself, I find it very easy to use bc im used to using all kinds of.computer software. I do wish, hint hint to the Roku developers, that the remote control was longer bc it’s very small. It’s small probably bc it’s so easy for regular ppl to use. It’s just a basic small remote and that’s it. What did, jic my dad loses the remote in his bedsheets or if it falls in the floor out of his reach, bc it’s small, I got a 1 gallon ziplock bag, hole punched a hole at the the top of the bag, and tied a long long long peice of yarn to the baggie. Keep the little remote inside the bag when not using it. Then, untied the other end if the string to the corner of his head post. That way when he needs his remote or if he can’t find it, all he has to do grab the yarn tied to the headboard and fish it out from wherever it’s hiding. He loves that. He said it has simplified something that used to drive him crazy, lol. Finally I was able to get myv90 year old father to get rid of cable tv where he was paying $140/per month just for the cable tv basic too 120 channels plus two Filipino channels charged at $10 each ($20 total) per month. He just watched his 2 subscription Filipino channels and one news channel. He also had the triple bundle which included landline 📞 for $75/per month and a promotional rate for internet for $40/per month. After all the tax and service fee goiging add on’s, his monthly telephone/cable/internet ran $250 per month which is ridiculous, and when his internet promotion run out in 6 more months, his monthly bill will jump up to approx $290/per month for a 90 year old man! Now, without the cable tv service, his bill for internet $40/month, and Idky it is but his phone bill drops from $75/month to only $20/month. From $290/per month down to just $60/per month plus taxes is unbelievable. Granted, the internet part raises up $40 per month in 6 more months to its normal rate after the promo runs out. I just bought one 2 weeks ago when it was on sale for just $17.99. I lied it so much I ordered another one for my special needs nephew, but it costed $24.20 yesterday, but that’s okay bc that’s cheap! Usually it costs a whole $20 just for a universal or replacement remote control. Btw, my nephew easily set up his new Roku stick by himself and loves how easy it is to watch all his new Roku apps and channels. It such a great bargain for everything it does offer for free. ... show more

  • Roku is the best streaming device by far.
Style: HD
We have several different iterations of Roku devices but I had not purchased the "Stick" version for fear that they would perform similar to my first FireStick which had slow menu navigation and loading on top of poor Wifi signal. Despite this and due to the discontinuation of Express version I purchased our first Roku Stick and was pleasantly surprised. The menu navigation is no different or slower than using the more expensive Rokus like the Ultra and Express. The remote no longer has a 3.5mm audio jack for headphones nor does the stick itself have bluetooth capabilities however this isn't an issue for us as the Roku app allows you to use your phone to stream the audio to whatever listening devices you want as long as the Roku Stick and your phone are connected to the same network. We haven't had any issues with the Wifi speed even in the room furthest away from the primary router where previously our FireStick struggled. Its very possible the newer FireSticks have better Wifi as our FireStick was an early version. The Roku stick also does not support AirPlay so if you like the idea of streaming photos videos from your iPhone you might wanna spring for the more expensive version (my wife enjoys this feature). Outside these differences the experience is virtually identical to the more expensive devices. General Review of Roku ecosystem: Full disclosure my first experience with Amazons streaming devices and ecosystem are from the early days of FireSticks but we do use the Amazon app on our Roku currently. I do favor Roku's devices and ecosystem overall. Roku requires a credit card upon device account setup however no charges are made unless you want to subscribe to a service or purchase content. Accounts contain information on all the devices, locations(for example:Roku Ultra:Office, Roku Express: Family Room, etc). Remotes when paired with the device are interchangeable between devices. When my kids loose the front room remote for our Ultra we just go grab the family room remote until we remember there is a remote locator feature which makes the remote itself ring so you can locate it.(not all devices?) Settings and controls features are pretty intuitive and allow you to customize your experience in a way I don't recall on Amazon devices. Roku offers free content in the form of live streaming channels(usually with ads) and recognizable movies and shows on both their Roku Channel as well as their Roku kids channels. The interface allows you to customize your home screen channels/features. Roku feels like they want you to setup your environment as you like where Amazon feels geared towards selling you their movies and services. The fish tank screen saver doesn't have ads and I don't recall them being part of the city side scroller screen saver either. It just feels like less of a commercial ecosystem then Amazons in my opinion. The Roku app is absolutely amazing. It allows you to watch the same content as your devices so sometimes I will watch my favorite shows on my phone in bed, no additional apps required. It also acts as a remote for any of the Roku devices. The baked in streaming audio feature is a huge plus for me. I will sometimes watch a show on a TV but want to do chores throughout the rest of the house. I start the show, turn on the app, route the audio through my phone and listen to the show on my Bluetooth headphones while moving throughout the house. I rarely download apps of this nature but the features of the Roku app are absolutely one of the best features of the Roku ecosystem. Roku support was very helpful when one of my devices failed to update making the unit non functional. A phone call with support had them try to trouble shoot the unit before deeming the issue unresolved and they immediately sent me a brand new replacement. No RMA garbage, just a quick and painless warranty replacement. I am very happy with all my Roku devices, ecosystem and Roku brand and will continue to support them and recommend them to friends and family. ... show more
