  • Can you tie your shoe?
Style: TV only Size: 55"
First off, full disclosure - we have had an account with ROKU for years and we have purchased their streaming units for some time. This unit has everything installed. You need a ROKU account but that is free and that particular setup is a no brainer. That said, I can say without qualification, setting this up took all of 15 minutes. Unpacking was a snap - really glad it was packed that way as the delivery folks were not exactly gentle with the large box, despite the fact it weighs all of 30 lbs or so packed - its just a bit awkward for a single person. It came right of the box and ready for placing on the stands. Please make sure you have a SMALL phillips screwdriver as the 4 screws have small heads. The stands are basically the same width - so you need a longer base to place the unit. Now, the fun stuff. We plugged a BOSE sound bar (also available on Amazon - costs as much as the $298 screen) into the port (there are multiple ports and this goes into the HDMIARC port). Plug it in and thats it. Went through the onscreen setup (all of five minutes) put Amazon Prime Video, Amazon Prime Music, and Netflix apps on the top of the apps selection, and that's all we view. The picture is bright, the volume of the BOSE speaker (volume controls on the right side) of the ROKU controller - we haven't used the BOSE controller) and ease of app selection is just like your phone. There is a tremendous APP selection - finding ours specifically took a bit of time with the handheld controller and I mean just a few minutes, but most of that was getting used to the controller, a bit different than a cable TV controller but we dont watch "TV" per se - we just WIFI the three apps mentioned. The controller has the three apps available on the handset so it was probably overkill to have the apps on the top menu as well. We purchased the 55 inch screen and that seems just the right size for our TV/extra bedroom. Please make sure to measure the wall before you purchase. We used the included stands and put the screen on a bench but this rascal can be wall mounted, but I can't speak to that. This was exactly correct for us. AMZN is probably going to get bent about me mentioning BOSE and Netflix but those are the reasons we purchased both the screen and sound bar. Don't know anything about the screen volume - I have always been a fan of BOSE and it works perfectly in this application. Oh yes, the unit also has a cable port for wired application and two other HDMI ports should you want to plug in a DVD player though we use the WIFI with the wireless booster and the signal is strong so we experience ZERO buffering. Now, we ONLY use three applications and for us - its perfect. I read multiple reviews about some of the problems with initial setup such as a blank screen, failure to power on, power cord missing, and a couple of other things. We had zero problems - thats why I prefer both ROKU and BOSE -kinda like tying your shoe - not a big thing. Its just that simple. Now lets see what the Amazon censor committee does about the mentioning of other products available on Amazon. Still haven't figured them out. This is probably the second or third review I have done. ... show more

  • Roku TV’s in 2025 are IMPRESSIVE. Do Not Look ELSEWHERE!!!
Style: TV only Size: 43"
High quality 4k HDR at a great price. Two things though: see below. Absolutely couldn’t be happier with my 55” Pro tv. Dolby atmos & 120hz native is amazing at such a competitive price is awesome. 43” select 4k HDR is great too. Sound is not Atmos but it shouldn’t be either. For normal tv speakers, it’s clear & HIGH quality sound and it’s very impressive. I guess you hit the nail on the head in terms of quality vs price. Well done Roku! Couple things to improve to dominate the market over the next decade: 1st, The Bluetooth headphone feature is fine but the downside is plenty of BT headphones, if you take them out of your ear for a moment and set them down, when you hit play on your paused roku tv will default to playing whatever music your phone was streaming in your car rather than playing the Roku tv you paused. Not a huge deal but a bit annoying as using corded headphones would be preferable rather than dealing with this annoying feature. PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE or release an official list of compatible BT headphones that function better. Roku app also has issues connecting with my 43” Roku select tv regularly but has ZERO issues connecting to my 55” Roku pro tv. The 55” works EVERY time but the 43” is a constant game of clicking “connect to device” and it constantly times out. Just have to try it many times and restart the app many times and eventually it works. Yes, both tvs are fully updated. Might be looking into buying an older Roku remote with the corded headphones jack?? Maybe that’s the real solution and roku could list that in Q&A to customers. 2nd, I wish they produced the Pro line in a 43” or 50”. Or somewhere in the middle. I’d pay the same price for a 43” as the 55” (insanely competitive regardless) as some rooms simply don’t look good with a 55” as it is TOO big for the space. I get it though, the market likely doesn’t support it. So this 43” is WONDERFUL to fit the bill. I am a happy customer and completely SOLD on Roku finally producing their own in-house tv line. IT’S ABOUT TIME!!! Keep the quality up, use focused advertising and you will continue to grow your market share over the next decade. Do NOT go towards Google tv and try to grow that way by getting greedy and integrating all devices, data sharing, etc. I didn’t go Google tv OS specifically for this reason. Use this fact in marketing to your advantage. Data privacy matters and there is a way to sell this product that refuses to sacrifice customer privacy. I think I want to work for Roku at this point. They’re onto something! ... show more

  • Easy to set up
Style: TV only Size: 43"
I've been using Roku players and remotes on most of my TVs for a few years so was familiar with the format and easy set up. I just had to add the device to my Roku account. I love the functionality on how all my apps can be arranged to my preferences on the home page. This new 43 inch had a special feature my other TVs didn't have using the asterisk on the remote that could make adjustments including the picture and sound settings. I didn't notice much difference in the 4K mode but don't use it much on our other TV either. My main 65 inch TV has OLED or QLED so this Roku isn't quite as good but I made some adjustments and used the sports settings to make the picture more vivid watching football. If I'm watching other programs people's faces are a little too bright but it's easy to switch the picture setting to the Roku smart setting or one of the other settings. The motion and sound quality are great! I ended up purchasing a pedestal base which was very easy to attach. The original legs are too far apart to fit where I wanted to put it. The TV seems well made and durable. I'm very happy with my purchase. I'm using it as a spare TV so my husband and I can watch multiple football games at the same time, like having our own sports bar! It will be used in the spare bedroom after football season. ... show more
