I love my own Roku which is very similar to this one, but purchased this exact one for my dad for Christmas, because Icouldn't find the exact model I have. I wanted to get him one with the option of using an HDMI connection because that's what his tv requires. He's been just as happy with it as I have with mine. Works well, pretty simple to operate even if you are not tech savvy, and lets you basically have all the smart TV options. This is great for someone who isn't a gamer, doesn't have a smart TV, or on a bedroom tv where you may not already have any kind of system that allows you to stream Netflix or use other apps. This was a great holiday buy for my Mom. Not as fast as my Roku3, but works just fine for watching movies. My mom is happy to have Netflix and Hulu and other streaming TV. Now she can cut back on her cable and save some money. Mom is happy and so am I.

I like the roku even though this is my first time using it. It works very well and I don't have to have all these apps on my smart TV, thats a major plus for me. I do not use Alexa or voice recognition so I can't say how that works.

This little streaming device is a pleasant surprise. I didn't expect much as this was on the lower end of Roku's product line, but it works just fine. Maybe a bit slow at times, but I think that has more to do with how many devices we have currently making demands on our wireless internet in the house. Set up was no problem at all, Maybe a bit detailed with registering it with a Roku account... I wish I had known I'd have to actually set up a Roku account online FIRST, before ever being able to actually use the device, but the extra time I needed to do this is my only complaint. That, and for some reason it's not set up to access the different profiles on Netflix, which I think is a bit ridiculous... after all, we PAY FOR Netflix, we should be able to access the different profiles on our account. I have to use the main profile in our household whenever I watch Netflix on my Roku, and it's annoying because I don't get my favourites list or the recommended movies according to what I like, and have to ignore all the movies that is on this particular profile. Really, just an annoyance... first world problems. I'll get over it. When I have the money I'll get a better streaming device and this one will be going into the kid's room for his TV. All-in-all, for the money, it's worth it for this streaming device. ... show more
