  • Great Value and Sound for the money. Fast Easy install.
Style: 8” 4 Ohm
I replaced the factory JBL subwoofer in a 2008 Tundra CrewMax. The factory speaker was shot. It was a 9" subwoofer, but the opening in the sub box had some play and I could screw in this Rockville sub in fine, the size was perfect. I had to line it up so that the screws would line up before I pre-drilled the holes - but that is the design of the Toyota Sub box and given it was designed for a 9" speaker not am 8". It came with foam padding on the bottom of the contact surface but I added extra. The reason I chose this is that I had a 3-1/2" height so I needed a low profile sub a this worked out great. The quality for the value was great. The JBL was light weight and not very good. The weight difference between the two was laughable. The Rockville is nice and hefty and feels durable. Now with this Rockville installed you can feel the difference. It looks great installed BUT it is facing the floor under the back seat so nobody but me (and you via my pics can appreciate it). The sound quality is great and fills out what was missing with the other speaker and amp upgrades I made. What made the install super easy was the quick attachments. I cut the wires ands stripped them and used the spring loaded wire connector to just install the wire with no issues. ... show more

  • Great price and hard to find in other brands
Style: 8” 2 Ohm
Great speaker. Works great for small sub boxes or for custom door installs. Has a great punch to it. Nothing too over the top, just the right amount of bass.

  • Sound vs name brand.
Style: 8” 2 Ohm
Works great. 2nd speaker is tried. 1st one was a shallow mount Pioneer. Sounded like crap. Was trusting a name. Never again. This one here, so far so good. No blown speaker sound.

  • Great replacement Sub for factory
Style: 8” 4 Ohm
This sub changed the dynamic of my system which is by no means high-end. pushing factory amp in my 2001Tahoe to a Cheap deck and good 300W door speakers. Fit very nicely into the factory enclosure that came with the vehicle. Not sure how it performs under some amplification past factory but very noticeable improvement to the factory amp. I would buy another if I needed 2. I may update this if I up the power but I think it will be more of the same. ... show more

  • Blew the second day I had it.
Style: 8” 2 Ohm
I install car audio for a living, know that i know what i'm doing. I know how to calculate the RMS power of an amp using an oscilloscope and a multimeter, looking at voltage and amp draw and such. I had this hooked up to a Taramps BASS400 amplifier and had the gain appropriately set to meet the RMS power rating of the sub, since the amp is overpowered for this unit. I never sent a clipped signal to this thing. It still blew on the second day. It seems the spider failed. Went to look into getting a replacement, only to find out this particular variation of this sub (SVC 2 ohm) has been discontinued and theyre all out of stock everywhere. It sounded great before it blew, its a shame i have nothing but a paperweight now. Maybe i can frisbee it at anyone trying to jack my ride? Idk. It was mounted in a factory enclosure for a lincoln town car. I checked the enclosure for leaks before installation and after it blew just to make sure there were no flukes. Maybe I just got a bad unit, but with production no longer happening, I'll never know. I kept my expectations in line for what is effectively a $50 shallow sub, but was let down nonetheless. ... show more

  • Decent sounding sub
Style: 8” 2 Ohm
I chose this as a less expensive option to replace the blown out sub in my 2002 Suburban. This is not a completely direct fit replacement, but pretty easy. There are no screw tabs on this sub. There is an outer anti vibration surround and the speaker terminals are different. Remove old sub. Remove anti vibration surround. I used some adhesive backed foam tape around the opening. Cut old terminals and strip wire. To secure the sub, I used an 1/8” drill into the plastic housing and reused the original screws. Done ... show more
