I have had these only a few days, but they are well worth the money, in my opinion. Check out these boxes for them on amazon.com: MTX Audio S120S Split Wood Unloaded Enclosures - Set of 2. I know the cu ft is way off, but mine sound decent after figuring out all the head unit and amplifier tweaks. I bought a second pair of speakers and boxes because the boxes were so cheap in price and the speakers were an amazing deal as well. Yeah, it was probably silly because two 12"s is more than plenty for most people. Rockford Fosgate makes a quality product. I have no worries about these speakers lasting or performing their function. The worst part is.....I want to buy a third set.....being rational is a fine line you have to walk sometimes. These are in a small SUV with approximately 150RMS to each one and definitely sufficient. ... show more

After reading some of the other reviews i wasn't expecting much. It's totally exceeded my expectations. I have one in my older diesel truck (regular cab) behind the seat. I built an angled sub box (first time) with a depth of 4" and 7" to fit my truck and put this speaker in it with a 250 watt RMS amp and it sounds great. i think it sounds better than the 2 12" MTX i used to have in my jeep cherokee and hits just as hard (although that could be because it's about an inch from my back). it's only been a little over 3 months, I've drove it for over 5 hours straight with med-hi volume and it handled it with no problem. It seems like a sturdy build and it's quite durable as i've dropped wrenches and screwdrivers on the cone and they just bounce off. i don't have any other experience with shallow mount subs, but i'd recommend this one and have thought about purchasing a 2nd for myself. ... show more

Loud, clean, clear bass. Bought this for a friend of mine to put in his Nissan Frontier pickup. There is NO space behind that backseat and ended up custom-building a backrest for it, inside of which are two of these. Paired with a Crunch GPA 1800.2 amplifier (for cost reasons), these things KICK. The idea was to have a sound system which would keep him awake while driving home after a night shift - and it works very well for that purpose. And for driving the neighbors up a wall...and to get tickets for disturbing the peace...and to make other driver jealous. They sound loud, clear, clean and crisp. Very low distortion and great response. Was actually surprised to hear some of the frequencies that these speakers would reproduce, considering their dimensions. Have no issues recommending them to anyone again. The mistake I made was that I did not buy any for me...might need a car to put them in, however... ... show more

What can I say besides wow. They are a lot cheaper than the Rockford website. On the site the cost $119 a piece. Not including shipping. They were super easy to install, and are tucked away nicely in my custom box under my backseat in my Chevy Silverado. I have a directed 600 watt class d amp, and it runs them great. There was an immediate sound difference between these and my old ones. The bass is much clearer and there is definitely a nice punch to them. I would definitely recommend these! ... show more

I used an old planet audio 3000.1 amp turned way down for 2 of these. Its 1 ohm safe that's why I used it. I made my own sealed box using a sub box volume calculator and it sounds perfect. If you power them right and put them in the right sized box they will impress you. I was doubtful on how loud and clean they would sound but after installing they are loud, clean and hit super hard. ... show more

Subs sounded great right after I installed them. Only problem is they only worked for a month then both voice coils blew in one and lost 1 voice coil in the other. I expect way more from Rockford Fosgate but I guess there quality is going to crap. Will not purchase Rockford anything anymore JL is the way to go ... show more

Just had this sub installed in my 2015 Chevrolet Silverado Crewcab. I placed it in a downfire box under the back seat. I am pushing it with a old Rockford Fosgate 240a2 Punch amplifier. It is complimenting my Factory Bose system and sounds great. Hits hard and deep. Love it!!!

Honestly, I’m quite surprised how well this sub hits. I have it wired at 2 ohm powered by an Alpine 500w class D mono and this thing pounds. Once you have your deck and amp dialed in, the sub truly shines. I can’t imagine what 2 of these sounds like. Definitely surpasses 2 10s.
